Steve November 05, 2018 for Model Number JB700SN1SS Front left burner cycles on and off on HI like is on lower setting take very long time to boil water. stive top hit light does not come on at all either
1 Answer Steve, Remove power and enter back of the unit to test the infinite switch. You should read continuity across l1 and p with the switch turned on. If the test fails, replace the switch. Read More...
James February 06, 2017 for Model Number JB700SN1SS Hello, My surface light indicator continuously blinks even after the stove is cold. Could it be the indicator light needs replacing?
2 Answers James, This issue would be caused by a faulty infinite switch. You will want to check to see which switch is sending power to the light and replace switch if needed. Read More...
James February 06, 2017 for Model Number JB700SN1SS Hello, My surface light indicator continuously blinks even after the stove is cold. Could it be the indicator light needs replacing?
2 Answers James, Not likely an indicator light problem. In which case you would need to check the sensor circuit on the burner element(s), at room temperature the circuit across the S and 2 terminals should be "open" when the element cooktop area reaches approx. 250 dgrs.F. the circuit will "close" and the hot surface indicator light will illuminate. You'll need to determine which sensor circuit is remaining "closed" or is intermittently operating after the cooktop has cooled down. Read More...
Richard R May 16, 2013 for Model Number GE JCBP84SM2SS Hello, Since fe week, the hot surface light indicator still on all the time, even if the surface is cold. Curriously, if i hit the surface, the light goes off. Does it have a sensor temp? if yes, what is the part number? Otherwise, how to fix that? Thanks and have a nice day. Richard
1 Answer Richard, The hot surface indicator light comes on when the limiter of the element starts getting hot. If the light stays on then the limiter would be faulty which would require the element to be replaced. Read More...
Anthony M. May 04, 2011 for Model Number JBP72dm2bb range The indicator light P/N AP3883388 witch indicates that the cooking surface is hot is always on, even though the cook top is cold. What has failed. Is it the indicator light itself or is it something else associated with this light.
1 Answer Hello Anthony. You will need to test the switches and see which one is sending power to the light. Once you determine which one is sending the power, you will neeed to test the temperature probe on the element and see if it is shorted. If so, you will need to replace the element. If the element is good, you will need to replace the switch. You can test this with a multi-meter MA-DM1. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter.
