The Lower Dishrack is an OEM part for GE dishwashers. It provides a sturdy shelf for placing pots, pans, plates, and other dishware on the bottom level of the dishwasher interior. The lower dishrack supports dish loads, holding them securely in place during the wash cycles.

Causes of a failing lower dishrack include long-term wear and tear, corrosion from exposure to water and detergents, damage from improper loading, and loose or broken components.

Symptoms of a bad lower dishrack:

  • Difficulty sliding the rack in and out
  • The rack getting stuck mid-cycle
  • Broken or missing wheels/rollers
  • Rust formation
  • Bent or misshapen wires

This GE replacement part is also compatible with Hotpoint, RCA, and some Kenmore models.

Hello Sheila. WD28X31819 is the correct GE lower rack assembly. It comes with the rollers, but you may have to install them onto the rack. They snap into place. Hope this helps.

Bill R. for Model Number GSD4200J00WW

I ordered and received this part (order #2144866). The rotating squirting thing now hits the bottom of the plates towards the rear, and thus stops spinning. Consequently the dishes are not getting cleaned. Either the rotating squirting part needs to be lowered of the lower rack needs to be raised a bit. Options? Some kind of strip to raise the track the rack rolls on? Larger wheels? Is there a way to lower the spinning squirting part? Please advise.

Hi Bill. You do not have the rack turned in backwards do you? The beveled edges are to show on the ouside when the rack is in fully. Make sure the middle wash arm mounts are completely clipped up under the rack tight so the wash arm does not hang loose to one side ( Middle arm). Make sure the lower wash arm is screwed tight to the top of the motor pump assy. If it is loose then it will be sloppy and hit. Part # WD18X214. Pump connect - This connect has female threads. For male threads use WD18X206. Thank You.
