Kathy March 19, 2019 for Model Number Htwp1400f1ww I would like to order a lid switch replacement and magnet replacement for my hotpoint washer. When doing cross referencing, I am told that the parts are not compatible with my htwp1400f1ww model but are compatible with the htwp1400f0ww model. Is there a difference between the two models? Would the htwp1400f0ww parts work on my washing machine?
1 Answer Kathy, The "Compatibility Tool" isn't always correct, especially when the manufacturer replaces a part with a new/revised part number. We did use the manufacturers parts and service library to check and review and verify the parts needed for the model number you supplied. The WH12X10276 / WH12X10276 Magnet Assembly, and the WH12X10334 / WH12X10334 WASHING MACHINE LID SWITCH ASSEMBLY, would be the correct parts to order for the washer model number you supplied. Both parts are in stock and available at this time. Thanks, Read More...
1 Answer Mike, You will want to check the thermal fuse on your unit to make sure that it has continuity. If it does not then it is faulty and needs replaced. Also if it is bad check venting from the blower wheel to the outside of the home as this would be the most likely cause for it to blow. The thermal fuse kit for this unit will be LA-1053. Scott July 08, 2017 for Model Number GTWN4250m0ws How does or why would the lid switch magnet go bad? It is just a magnet, yes? So if mine still attracts metal does that mean it is fine or is there more to this "magnet" than simple magnetic properties? Thank you.
1 Answer Hello Scott. They will rust out and swell up and cause the magnet not to make good contact with the switch. If yours looks rusty, then you will need to order and replace the magnet on the unit. Read More...
Bullatony August 25, 2016 for Model Number WCSE4160B1WW I've got an old ge profile washer that doesn't spin with lid closed, but if you push down with a screwdriver on tab that actuates switch, spins fine. All parts that I'm coming up with are magnetic switches. Can I retrofit?
1 Answer Sorry bullatony. We can not advise to retrofit anything that is a manufacturer safety item. Read More...
Mike August 02, 2016 for Model Number GTWN3000M1WS How do you know if the lid magnet switch is no good?
1 Answer Hello Mike. You test the switch for continuity with the lid closed. It should read closed. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
