Buzman May 14, 2021 for Model Number ZVC36L1SS My customer had a roof leak and his vent hood is dead. We tried a new control board (WB27X24320 but that did not solve the issue. Is this repairable or should he just get another insert?
1 Answer Buzman, it would be recommended that the main switch WB23X10017 on the inner left side is tested for incoming 120VAC from the voltage supply. If there is proper voltage and the switch is in the on position, there should be 120VAC going from it to the main control. If voltage does not go from the switch to the control, the switch has failed and would need to be replaced. Read More...
Jeff September 29, 2020 for Model Number jeffmayfield10@gmail.com Have GE ZVC48L1SS range hood. The 3 lights and fan just started to buzz and go on and off continuously. Had to cut power at breaker. Now have turned off the unit from inside switch. Is this the control board? or, can it be something else?
1 Answer Jeff, It is most likely that the WB27X24320/WB27X24320 MAIN BOARD has a failed circuit or broken/loose solder joint ? First check to make sure there are no loose wire connections at the junction box and the main control board. Label all the wires(or take a photo) it gets "tight" inside the control box and you don't want to cross any wires or attach the wires to the wrong terminals. Thanks, Read More...
Gayla February 17, 2020 for Model Number GE Vent Hood Model #ZVC48LSS The center of 3 lights mounted on strip as part of vent hood popped and went out yesterday. Then we could not turn off lights with buttons, + and - , and off button. Replaced bulb. Still same issue. We can turn off the vent fan but not lights unless we turn off at breaker box. As the lights are always on, we unplugged the little control box, the fan remained on as did the lights. We had to replug the control box to turn off vent fan. Once before the control box, part #WB27X24320, had to be replaced, but I don't remember why. Do you think it needs to be replaced again and could it be something else?
1 Answer Hello Gayla, yes you will have to replace the mainboard WB27X24320 when the bulb shorted out it welded the light relay contacts closed. Read More...
Ej S. December 12, 2019 for Model Number ZVC36LISS Currently only fan control functions correctly, lights do not work consistently. When lights do turn on both work fine so I know bulbs are fine. Once the blue lights indicating on, the fan works fine. Does the control box require cleaning or do I need to replace it or main board to get lights working properly?
1 Answer EJ, First check the wiring and connections between the switch box and the main control board WB18X10380 Vent Hood Wire Harness, if all's OK then replace the WB27X24320 Main Board. Thanks Read More...
Dale October 20, 2019 for Model Number GE ZVC30L1SS stove hood The lights and fan no longer respond to the switches to turn them on or off. More worrying is the lights coming on at random and rapidly flickering for hours at a time. I have taken to flipping the breaker in the house electrical panel when we leave the house for any period of time. Does this sound like the main motherboard needs replacement?
1 Answer Dale, For this issue, you would need to replace the main control board WB27X24320. Read More...
1 Answer Hello David, The instructions on removing the control box is included in the tech sheet for the unit. The tech sheet is usually in the power connection box or in the control box. Remove the filters and remove the two screws and loosen the four thumb screws and the control box will come out. Disconnect the wires and it will be loose from the hood assembly. Read More...
Milton April 30, 2018 For a few months the halogen lights would not turn completely off. They would go dim but not off. Sometimes they would go off and then come back on by themselves. Recently it sounds like the blower is trying to start, a bumping sound and the lights blink with the bumping sound.
1 Answer Milton, This issue would most likely be caused by the control board on the unit. Read More...
Rich February 04, 2018 for Model Number GE Range Hood ZVC36L1SS Our range hood mother board appears to be bad. The unit sometimes will not turn off, forcing me to take off the screens and hit the hard switch. When this happens the blue lights on the controls all blink on an off. Will replacing the board fix the problem? Otherwise, the blower and lights all work. It just malfunctions and won't turn off or allow fan or light adjustment. It gets stuck on, in other words.
1 Answer Rich, Based on the information provided it does sound like the main board will be the issue with the unit. Read More...
