  • Monitors inputs from the lid lock and other sensors for safe, accurate operation
  • Interfaces with the user controls to run the selected wash program
  • Typical failure symptoms: won't start or power up; no fill/agitate/spin/drain; stops mid-cycle; error codes or unresponsive controls
What's included: 1 main control board assembly Install notes:
  • Disconnect power before servicing and handle the board with ESD protection
  • Access the control at the top/rear area, transfer connectors one at a time to the same positions, and secure the board in the original mounting
  • After installation, restore power and run the unit's diagnostic/service mode to verify operation; some models may require a configuration/personality step per the tech sheet

Questions & Answers

For Ge Main Control Board (Top-Load Washer) (Part Number: OEM24168192)

Mitch, it is recommended that the lid lock harness WH19X24141 is tested to identify if the failure might be in the wires. From the main control side to the lid lock side, the violet wire, red wire, and yellow wires should each show as having continuity. As the control is recognizing the lid being shut, the violet wire would be more focused on as it is to the lock plunger. If the wires test good, the main control WH22X38441C would have failed as the unit will not lock.

Hello Steve, first, run an empty load , check if the washer will spin out correctly. The control board detects out of balance loads by feedback from the drive motor windings. Check the wire harness from the motor to the control board esp the connection at the board. If all checks correctly the next step would be a control board replacement.

Travis, it is recommended that the programming personality is checked to ensure that the correct personality code is set. The manufacturer does recommend the main control WH22X38441C for the model number provided so the personality code would be a likely cause of this issue. instructions for checking the personality and changing it if necessary will be sent to you.

Robert, the personality ID will need to be double-checked to ensure that the programming code ID only shows the two middle LEDs illuminated for your model. From there, it would be recommended that the wires are checked for any loose connections as this can cause a control to act erratically. The personality code check procedure will be sent to you to assist with this.

Jose for Model Number GTW460ASJ4WW

Hey there I got a GE washing machine. It can wash up yo 6-7 loads of clothes with no problems but all of a sudden it won’t spin. It does everything but spin. After I reset the washer and put it on rinse to get the water and get the tub to spin it works normal for another 6-7 loads and then it’ll do it again and not spin. Now I guess I reset it too many times so now it won’t reset and it won’t spin. All it does is wash and take the water out but it won’t spin. I already changed a door switch, mode shifter Asm, and the person who had it told me they just put a new transmission because it was doing the same thing it’s doing now. It’s got a new capacitor, water valve harness, and a lid lock harness, and a new water valve assembly. Can you please tell me what the problem is? I don’t know what else to change. Now I think the only thing left to change is the board and the motor I don’t know what else to do. Can you please help me out. Thanks in advance. And also how can I reset a new board thanks

Jose, based on the information provided, the main control would need to be updated using the SUM module WH98R23015001. In many cases, the main control will receive a signal that it can misinterpret as the washer is out of balance, which will cause it to not spin. This update module will correct the main control software (if the main control is the original control from the manufacturer).
