  • Manages cycle timing and power to the drive motor, drain pump, and water inlet valves
  • Monitors inputs from the lid lock and other sensors for safe, accurate operation
  • Interfaces with the user controls to run the selected wash program
  • Typical failure symptoms: won't start or power up; no fill/agitate/spin/drain; stops mid-cycle; error codes or unresponsive controls
What's included: 1 main control board assembly Install notes:
  • Disconnect power before servicing and handle the board with ESD protection
  • Access the control at the top/rear area, transfer connectors one at a time to the same positions, and secure the board in the original mounting
  • After installation, restore power and run the unit's diagnostic/service mode to verify operation; some models may require a configuration/personality step per the tech sheet

Raymond, I would make sure that the personality is set properly. Then if the issue continues try running the diagnostics mode found on the tech sheet to determine the issue.

Hot water fill does not appear to work. Machine fills tap cold water when set to Hot or Warm. Fills warmish when set to Colors. Ran error codes, none relevant. Ran diagnostic test on Hot water and then Cold water valves and both work fine, plenty of hot water into machine during diagnostic test. Ran Analog Knob diagnostic and all knobs worked fine EXCEPT Temperature Switch which had inconsistent blinking behaviors when rotating knob. Light is supposed to blink faster when you rotate right but it would REMAIN blinking same frequency from Cold through to Hot setting – or suddenly change frequency and blink faster –but would not consistently change blinking speeds as I rotated dial: sometimes slowing, sometimes speeding up. This leads me to believe the Temperature control is malfunctioning. Looking at the parts list I'm lead to believe the control board TL27 needs to be replaced. Thoughts?

Wade, Based on the information provided this does sound like a possible issue, but you may want to look at the selector switch assembly as well.

Abraham, the error code display mode can be entered by pressing and holding the start button (the unit is in off mode) until all of the LEDs turn on and the button can be released. The pause and lid-locked LEDs should constantly blink and the 6 cycle status LEDs should flash in a specific pattern, indicating the most recent error code.

Bryant, Thanks for the question!!! Yes, the pressure switch is part of the control board. Before replacing the control check the pressure hose and attachment ports for blockages.

Jen, It would be recommended to get the tech sheet from inside the unit and put the unit into a service diagnostic mode to see if there are any stored error codes. If there are error codes, the tech sheet will tell you what they mean.

Gina for Model Number GTW460ASJ6WW

I have a GTW460ASJ6WW. When we attempt to turn it on it fills only a minimal amount. Not enough to even wet the clothes. It then attempts at agitate. It will then not allow you to hold down the start button for three seconds to stop it. Only way to stop it is to unplug it. We have tried thisa few times. It has to stay unplugged for hours before you can attempt again, or it goes right back it to attempting to agitate. If we put it on small load it does this, even if you then attempt to put on a large load it will try to fill for about 3-5 secs then goes right back into agitate attempt. Once it is in this mode it can not be stopped.

Ken, This is normal for the washer to not fill the tub. Here is an excerpt from the owner's manual explaining this. NOTE: This is a high-efficiency washing machine. This system requires less water while providing effective cleaning action. You may notice that the water level is lower than on your previous washer. This is normal.

Phillip, while the washer is in the off state, press and hold the start button until all of the LEDs turn on (should take no more than 15 seconds). If an LED pattern flashes on the cycle status LEDs, this will indicate an error code. If an error code does not appear, the failure would most likely be in the main control WH22X38441C.

Patsy, With the drain pump continuing to run then this will be a faulty control board that will need to be replaced.
