Steve March 16, 2020 for Model Number Jvm 1750dm1 Was using yesterday and heard a strange deep toned hum for 4-5 seconds and then microwave shut down. No power. Checked circuit breaker and had not flipped to off. So I turned off and turned back on. Nothing. Then unplugged and tried in a different outlet via heavy duty extension cord. Nothing. Any ideas? Or just replace?
1 Answer Steve, The hum you described is likely to be one of the high voltage parts such as the magnetron, diode, capacitor or transformer. Charles September 04, 2019 for Model Number GE JNM7196DF1CC The unit was bought in Dec 2015. The unit just shut off...we were not cooking or anything..then all of the sudden (several days later) the unit came back on. I re-set the clock, the light worked for a few days but then we tried to cook in it and as soon as we hit cook...it went dead again, none of the buttons or anything work...it has 120V at the outlet...I need help...we didn't realize we use it!
