Lee October 24, 2012 for Model Number PDW8680NooSS The middle spray arm on this dishwasher is not rotating when in use. What could be the possible causes? I have removed the basket/spray arm hose assembly and with a garden hose outside put water through it, while water flows everywhere, no gaskets/seal anywhere, and it still does not rotate. Also, should there be an O ring/seal on the fitting on the rear water feed assembly, where the spray arm engages the water supply when the door is closed?
1 Answer Lee, have you removed the middle spray arm and checked the bearing nut and hub for excessive wear or damage ( To Disassemble Midddle Spray Arm:1. Pull upper rack all the way out.2. Remove nut on bottom of middle spray arm. This will allow the middle spray arm and bearing to be removed. 3. To remove conduit, remove screw (some models) from hub. Press tab on side of mid bracket to release the hub and mid conduit. 4. To reinstall arm, reverse process.) and is the water level in the tub correct (start the dishwasher and allow to run for 3 to 5 minutes, unlatch and open the door). The water level should be in contact with the bottom of the float cover in the left front corner of the tub, If not, theres not enough water in the tub to operate the spray arms properly. Read More...
