Author, Is the unit cooling, fans running, compressor running? If no fans and compressor are running then most likely the main control would need to be replaced. Only other probable cause would be to check the wiring coming thru the bottom of the door for breaks. A simple tug test on each individual wire will let you know if you have damage to these wires.

Cindy, For freezing on the refrigerator side then this would most likely be a faulty thermostat. For the humming noise from the compressor this would possibly be a compressor that is starting to fail.

Gil, When replacing the condenser fan motor the blade would not need to be replaced as it is the shaft of the motor that would keep the fan blade from turning properly.

Jaymac for Model Number GSS22SGRESS

I installed a replacement fan motor, but the fan won't run. While troubleshooting, I pushed on the black rubber gasket and the fan starting moving. Let go, fan stops. The screws are tight, the fan is seated correctly on the spindle on the other side with the other gasket, but it seems to need pressure to kick in. The old fan worked, but the bearings were going out so it was squeaking. Any suggestions? Should the fan run all the time or is there some type of temperature sensor? Any help would be appreciated.

Jaymac, If this is the condenser fan motor then it will run while the compressor is running. It is possible that you may have gotten a defective fan motor if it needs to have pressure put on it to rotate.

Mark for Model Number gsf251gzbbb

water line has frozen several times and i have corrected it with trimmer line and blow drier, keeps happening though every several weeks.I have upped the temp on the freezer but that doesnt seem to help. I have just noticed that the fridge body is warm/hot between the doors, door body edges and top of fridge near doors. does this sound like a condenser fan issue? i have not pulled the back cover off yet to check, sorry. any knowns? thanks for your help.

Hello Mark. No, that is normal for those to get warm. You will need to check and see if the freezer is to cold causing the line to freeze. Needs to be set to 0°.
