Joyce October 20, 2023 for Model Number JP950B0K1BB It looks like GE has discontinued the wb30t10062 burner for electric cooktops. Is there an alternative to the GE part, e.g. from another manufacturer?
1 Answer Joyce, unfortunately, the manufacturer has not listed an approved substitute for the discontinued element WB30T10062. As this is the case, we would not be able to recommend an alternative. Read More...
Juan June 15, 2022 for Model Number P P980B0M1BB Hi, I have a GE profile cooktop part # "P P980B0M1BB" and I am getting code F153 and the "hot surface" indicator light for the front right element is on constantly. Can you tell me exactly which part I need? Also I am very handy, is this something I can replace myself? Do I need to perform any special procedures? Or can I just simply swap the parts? Thanks.
1 Answer Juan, the right front element WB30T10062 would need to be inspected for a broken heating ribbon, and the sensor tested for a resistance between 1030-1150 Ohms. If the element ribbon or the sensor test failed, the element would need to be replaced. If they are good, the main control WB27X33352 would need to be replaced and recalibrated. This is a test and repair that can be done after the power supply is turned off and the cooktop is lifted out of the counter. The glass top can be removed by taking the screws out just under the lip of the glass and lifting it up. This will give access to both the element and the control. Read More...
Timothy January 29, 2022 for Model Number PP980B0M1BB Right front element is not working. Error code F153 displayed. Will replacing the heating element (WB30T10062) solve the problem, and if I need to recalibrate how is that done..
1 Answer Timothy, the sensor on the right front element WB30T10062 would need to be tested for resistance to identify if the element is the cause of failure. It should measure about 1100 Ohms at room temperature. If it does not measure about 1100 Ohms, the element has failed. Read More...

Patricio October 19, 2017 I only need the temperature sensor SH10214513. The full radiant element is more than $250,00 but the sensor should be arount $20.00. GE does not sell the sensor alone. Is there a compatible sensor I could buy and install? (I know how to do it).
James S October 18, 2017 for Model Number ZEU30R Both my left front and right front elements have stopped working. Error codes: Left front: F113 Right Front: F153 Do I need new elements? Which ones and what are the costs? Thank you.
1 Answer James, The error codes are indicating that there is a sensor issue with the front left and front right burner. You will need to check all the heater, sensor and harness connectors. Make sure that they are tight and secure and check the ribbon cable for possible damage. Remove the sensor fromt he connector from the board and check for resistance of 1030-1150 ohms. IF it does not then replace the heater and if they check ok then the main board will be the issue. Read More...
Jim September 22, 2016 for Model Number GE Profile Cooktop JP980SK1SS I need to replace a radiant element. Is it necessary to install a new seal to the box which house the elements? Is it necessary to install new foam seal around the outside of the glass to seal the c glass from the counter? Which of the many items listed as number 200 on the exploded view of the cooktop are needed?
John June 05, 2016 Is this part supposed to come with no instructions? Oh, well. Off to search the GE website.
1 Answer Hello John. To replace the element you will need to pull the unit out from installation and remove the screws that are around the perimeter that hold the main top in place. Once removed you will lift the cooktop off of the burner box and this will give you access to the burners. Read More...
