The Radiant Element is an OEM part for GE ranges and cooktops. This part provides efficient and even heating for cooking. This part uses electricity to heat up and transfer warmth directly to the cookware. The radiant element is encased under the glass surface of the cooktop, offering a sleek and easy-to-clean cooking area while ensuring optimal heat distribution and cooking performance.

Causes of failure might include a burnt-out heating coil, damage to the element's electrical connections, or a malfunction within the control system that regulates power to the element.

Symptoms of a bad Radiant Element include:

  • The element not heating up, leading to insufficient cooking temperatures.
  • Uneven heating, causing inconsistent cooking results.
  • The cooktop surface not responding or only partially heating, indicating a possible failure in the element's circuit.

This OEM GE part is also compatible with Hotpoint, RCA, and some Kenmore models.

For Ge Radiant Element (Part Number: OEM11582043)

Rich for Model Number JB905B0H2BB

We have a 17 year old GE Profile stove with model number JB905B0H2BB (not sure why there is a 0 between B and H but I can send you a picture if you don't believe me). Its taking a lot longer to boil water than when it was new. I am thinking the large heating element needs to be replaced. Do you agree or should I check something else? If you agree it needs to be replaced, I am seeing all kind of part numbers for the part. You say WB30T10099 (AP3860678) replaces WB30T10044, 1167353, AH1016539, EA1016539, PS1016539, WB30K5032, WB30T10035, WB30T10050. Does this mean any of these parts numbers will work? What would be the advantage of using WB30T10099?

1 Answer

Hello Rich, this is usually not a heating element problem, first check the pan/pot being used has not developed a warped bottom, smooth top cooktops require full contact of the pan/pot to the heating surface to absorb the heat otherwise will trip the element's high limit thermostat until it cools down and resets resulting in decreased performance. If that is not the case suggest replacing the burner's infinite switch WB24T10063 first as they can wear over time/use and again result in a decreased performance.

Gina, the 9" dual element WB30T10099 is used with the model provided. The red wire will go just above the pre-installed blue wire on the ceramic square, the original blue wire will go to the terminal close to the ceramic square next to the other side of the pre-installed blue wire, the purple wire will go to the opposite side of the original blue wire. The black wire and the grey wire will go on the remaining two terminals on the ceramic square.

Ying Lee, This issue would most likely be caused by a faulty element since the outer works but the inner does not.

Jewell for Model Number JBP80KOH2CC

My GE range's 9-inch dual element only heats on the small circle and not on the outer circle. I know I have to replace it, but I can't seem to find the correct replacement. The closest GE model number that you have listed is JBP80KH 2CC. It does not include the "O". This is not a typographical error on my part. My question is: Will your 9-inch dual element with limiter, your Part AP2027786 (manufacturer part WB30T10044) fit my range?. Appliance Model JBP80KOH2CC Thank you so much for your help.

Hello Jewell, WB30T10099 is the correct part number for the 9" dual element for the model number JBP80KH2CC, which is how GE lists the model.

Beth, If the 6" inner element is not working then you will want to test from terminal 2 on the switch to terminal 4 for 240 vac. If there is proper power then the element would be the issue. If there is not proper power then the switch is faulty.

Lisa for Model Number JP989B0D6BB

Yesterday while cooking steam fom the lid of a pot pooled on the flat cooktop near the controls. Before I saw the water, the cooktop made a popping sound and blew the breaker. We dried the area and tried to reset the breaker ( burner was still in the on position) but breaker popped again. Will an element make that sound when it fails ( our oven element went popping nuclear when it died) or could moisture have gotten into the electronics? Any thoughts.

Lisa, This issue would more likely be that one of the infinite switches is faulty and would need to be replaced.

Hello Jim. If the element works some and not some, then the switch is bad and will need to be replaced on the unit. Thank you.

Hello Jay, This is a 9" element WB30T10099. I'm sorry but you will need to use the one recommended by the manufacturer for model JBP78WB1WW so it will cycle and fit properly. Thank you for your patience and understanding in this matter.
