The Upper Spray Arm Screw is an OEM replacement part for GE dishwashers. It is a component that secures the upper spray arm into place inside the dishwasher tub. The spray arm is responsible for distributing water above the top rack during wash cycles to help rinse and clean dishes.

Causes of a bad upper spray arm screw can include wear and tear from extended use that results in a loose or stripped screw. Failure to secure the spray arm properly affects washing performance.

Symptoms of an improperly fastened upper spray arm include:

  • Water not spraying properly from the arm jets
  • Loose or rattling noises coming from inside the tub

This part is also compatible with Hotpoint, RCA, and select Kenmore dishwashers.

For Ge Upper Spray Arm Screw (Part Number: OEM11382708)

Bill for Model Number ZBD6880K00SS

The bolt for the upper spray arm goes through the conduit, but then it screws into a machined piece of steel that is connected to the inside/top of the dishwasher. We'd like to know if this solid piece of machined steel can be removed and replaced... and how is it attached, eg, does the dishwasher have to be removed so I can put a wrench on a top nut? Or is the nut for this piece of steel welded/attached to the top/outside of the steel tub? Can this piece of steel with the busted-off bolt in it even be replaced? It is notched at its base, it looks like to help remove, but don't want to just wrench it off and break it! Thanks for any help.

Bill, Thanks for the question!!! The nut appears to be part of the tub assembly. GE does not offer the tub assembly as a service part. Your best option would be to uninstall the unit and see if the nut will come off (no loss if you break it as for the time bring your dishwasher is unrepairable, due to no part being available). If the nut happens to come off, take it to a local hardware store to match it up.

Andrew, unfortunately, where the screw mounts, is built into the tub frame and is not listed by the manufacturer as an available part. Aside from using an easy out, we would not know of a way to remove the broken portion of the bolt.

Joe, If the screw is just turning both ways without coming out then this will most likely be that the main conduit is stripped out. The main conduit would need replaced for this and is part number WD12X10113.

Paul R for Model Number pdw8200j01cc

My wife took apart our GE Profile DW (Mod pdw8200j01cc) and it leaked. I took it back apart and found that the upper arm was very loose. I tried to tighten it down and broke the upper washer arm screw off in it's housing (which looks like a large solid nut connected to the exterior of the dw tub. I cant find a replacement part for the connector that holds the arm. I found out after I broke it off that she had an extra part, the small plastic bushing that would have secured and stabilized the upper washer arm and made the connection tight. Ugh. help.

Chris, The manifold has 2 clips on it that the upper spray arm will clip onto. This will lock it into place so that it does not fall.
