Hans July 24, 2012 for Model Number GSD2200G00WW Hi, I have a GE Nautilus dish washer that fills with water and starts operating but then drains again, leaving not enough water for the arms to turn. The float switch is operating fine, I tested the fill cycle while holding it down manually. I am suspecting that it might be the timer switch, since I have the following timing pattern: water starts filling and I start hearing the spray arm turning, at 15 seconds drain opens for the first time (fill valve still open), at 25 seconds drain valve closes (fill valve still open - I can hear water going in), at 39 seconds drain valve opens for the second time, 3 seconds or so later fill valve closes, a few seconds later drain valve closes but it drained out enough water for the spray arms to stop. The timing pattern is the same from the Start as well as from the Rinse position. I am 100% sure that it's not the float switch opening, since I tested the fill cycle while holding the switch down manually. There is a little bit of leakage coming off the drain valve shaft when it's draining, but that might be a separate problem. There is some corrosion on the drain valve solenoid, but it seems to open and close fine. I am basically trying to figure out whether I should try to replace the timer first, or whether replacing the pump assembly might fix this, or both. Any help much appreciated.
1 Answer Hans, Were it a timer issue, we would expect you to hear the drain valve solenoid engage, it can be pretty loud. A problem with the drain valve flapper inside the pump, or an improper install, could cause the dishwasher to fill and drain at the same time. You may want to remove the kick plate and lower access panel, and observe the drain solenoid WD21X10060 to see if it is being energized, electrically, from the timer, while the machine is filling with water. Kayla February 16, 2012 for Model Number HDA3200F00AA My dishwasher is leaking from the bottom. The drain solenoid has mineral deposits on it... I'm wondering if this could be where the leak is coming from? If so, is it more than likely just the drain seal.
1 Answer Kayla, If you're sure the deposits are on the top portion and the sides of the Drain Solenoid, this is an indication that the drain valve shaft seal has failed and is leaking. Your best bet would be to replace the pump/motor assembly WD26X10013 Thanks and Good Luck Read More...
Carl February 11, 2012 for Model Number GSD4200J00WW Little water is getting to the sprayers in my dishwasher. I've replaced the water valve with no change. I noticed that my drain solenoid plunger and armature(about one year old) was stuck. I've tried to free it up, it moves better but it is still real "tight". Is there something I can do to free it up? Also, can a faulty solenoid be the cause of the low water pressure?
1 Answer Hello Carl. No, if the solenoid WD21X10060 is tight, you will need to replace the solenoid assembly. Hope this helps. Read More...
Jack November 30, 2011 for Model Number GSD3800G00CC Will not drain, Everthing seems to be working, solenod, pump and everthing connected to it. How can you tell if the discharge valve is working in side?
1 Answer Hello Jack. When the unit is in drain mode, you can check and see if the solenoid assembly WD21X10060 is pulling the arm down and opening the drain flap. Hope this helps. Read More...
Bryan October 15, 2011 for Model Number GSD3800G00CC My solenoid assembly moves when I turn the control knob but the motor won't turn unless I spin it with a screwdriver. Is the solenoid bad or my motor? It just hums and won't drain the water out of the bottom.
1 Answer Hi Bryan. The motor is part # WD26X10013. You can go into the top and access the impellor assy. part # WD19X10032, to see if it is bent. Thank You. Read More...
Will August 21, 2011 for Model Number HDA3700G00CC I'm not getting any water in the dishwasher when it is turned on. Is this the pump, motor or both?
1 Answer Hi Will. Remove all power. The inside float stem connects to the float switch below the tub. This turns on/off a water valve. This float is part # WD12X335. The switch is part # WD21X479. Take the toe kick panel off and these parts are on the rt. side/front area. Thank you. Read More...
1 Answer Hello Hemant. You will need to check and see if the solenoid assembly WD21X10060 is closing all the way. If not, you will need to replace the solenoid assembly. Also check and make sure the disposal is not backing up due to a clog in the drain pipe. Hope this helps. Read More...
Robert C. June 22, 2011 for Model Number gsd2200z4wh When I start the cycle on the dishwasher sometimes I get water and sometimes I don't. Everything else seems to work.
1 Answer Hello Robert. It sounds like the water valve may be bad. Check and make sure the float inside the tub is not sticking. You will need to remove the dome cover to check this. If it moves freely up and down, then you will need to replace the water valve WD15X93. Hope this helps. Read More...
Don June 05, 2011 for Model Number adw1100n10ww The float seems to not be working... water will continue flowing in and not stop.
1 Answer Hello Don. If you can turn the dishwasher off and stop the water, then you will need to replace the float switch WD21X479. If you have to turn the water off to stop the water from coming in, then you will need to replace the water valve WD15X10003. Hope this helps. Read More...
James May 18, 2011 for Model Number 363.14252100 My dishwasher is not draining. Could the problem be the solenoid assembly? I turned on the dishwasher and turned the knob through all the cycles and watched the solenoid assembly during that process and it didn't kick over. Could there be another reason it's not draining?
1 Answer Hell James. You will need to test and see if there is power coming to the solenoid assembly WD21X10060 during drain. If there is power coming to the solenoid, but the solenoid does not work, you will need to replace the solenoid. You can test this with a multi-meter MA-DM1. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. Hope this helps. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
