This is a French spring, or French divider door spring. It is used in refrigerators. This part allows the doors to open and close. It is located in the door of the fridge. A new French divider door spring may be needed if the door is stuck or is coming off of its hinges. This repair requires only a standard household toolkit. To replace the spring simply remove the old one and replace the part with a new, working piece. Be sure not to bend the spring while installing it as it will not fit in as the replacement part. This is a genuine OEM part. It is sourced directly from the manufacturer and is sold individually. This specific French Divider Door Spring is compatible with appliances made from General Electric.

Jeanie, unfortunately, we would not know where the discontinued french spring WR02X12650 could be obtained. The manufacturer has not listed an approved substitute for this part and an alternative could not be guaranteed to have the same tension.

Hello Patricia, the manufacturer only sells the flipper as an assembly AGU74429104, you can try to use the spring, however, we have no way to confirm if it will work on your model. Your model is an LG-built Kenmore and the spring is a GE part.

Hello William, I'm sorry but the spring is not listed as available individually. It looks like you will have to order AGU74110902 to get the spring. Thank you for your patience and understanding in this matter.

D., if the spring is loose in any way when installed into the spring pin WR02X12651, the pin would need to be inspected for any cracks or breaks. Commonly a crack can occur that will prevent the spring from being able to function properly.

Dane for Model Number GFSL6KKXALS

The top of the mullion (flapper) of the door has popped off the upper bracket and the spring has also broken that causes it to close. How do I take the mullion (flapper) off this model? I need to take it off and then slide it back on the upper bracket. Most of the repair videos I've seen has screws on the center of the door, however this model only has plastic knobs which the center connection seems to be adhered to the door. I don't want to pry it off and break the door. Any suggestions or is there an easy way to pry it off. Thanks and I look forward to buying the replacement spring and other parts I need to fix this.

Dane, The plastic knobs are just caps that cover the screw and you can pop them off. Once you do you will have access to the screws.

Hello Matthew. This should be easy to fix, just put the new spring into the positions of the original. It just snaps on.
