An infinite switch controls power to an electric range or cooktop surface element, letting you select and maintain heat levels. Replacing a failed switch restores proper on/off cycling and responsive temperature control for consistent burner performance.

  • Regulates power to the surface element by cycling current at the setting you choose
  • Interfaces with the burner knob to select Low through High heat
  • Common failure symptoms: element stuck on high, won't heat, won't shut off, or heats erratically
What's included: 1 surface element infinite control switch Install notes:
  • Disconnect power at the breaker before servicing
  • Access the control panel/backguard; note wire locations and transfer them to the new switch one at a time
  • Secure the switch, reinstall the knob/panel, and test burner operation

Hello Bob, We can probably pull the wiring diagram with the model number but with no model number, we cannot pull it. Everything in the appliance industry is tied to the model numbers. I'm sorry to put you to the additional trouble but if we could please ask you to post the model number on the units' I.D. tag, we can pull that wiring diagram and provide you with proper assistance. Thank you for your patience and understanding in this matter.

There are P2,P1,S2,2,4,4a. when the switch is off, between P1 & P2 is 240v, P1 & 4 is 240v, P1 & 2 is 240v, P1 & 4a is 240v, P1 & S2 is 0v, P2 & S2 is 140v. I don't know I should change a heating element or a switch. Could you give me some suggestion? Thanks!
