John September 12, 2014 for Model Number WPRE6100G0WT I started a new load of laundry and the water just kept coming... it overflowed a little bit but luckily my drain pan caught most of it. What do I need to replace?
1 Answer John, The first thing to check is the pressure hose. Check for cracks or holds in it, check to make sure that it is not clogged. Also make sure that the air dome that the pressure hose connects to is not clogged. If these check ok then the pressure switch would be the most likely cause for the failure. Read More...
Craig Nelson May 09, 2014 for Model Number PSS23MGTEBB The dispenser portion of my GE refrigerator no longer dispenses water or ice. The selector buttons light when depressed but when the glass dispenser arm is depressed no ice or water dispenses. The ice maker is functioning and continues to make ice. If I depress the Cubed button and press the button lights. Upon depressing the glass dispenser arm the light will go out for a couple of seconds and then come back on. The auger does not rotate. I have removed all ice from the bin and cycled the ice maker off/on. There are two parts listed in this area (1) dispenser board or (2) control board. Any ideas regarding the problem?
1 Answer Craig, Based on the description it sounds like you will want to check the wire harness at the hinge of the door to ensure that there are not broken or loose wires. If they check ok then the issue would most likely be caused by the display board WR55X10653. Read More...
Craig N May 09, 2014 for Model Number WPRE6100G0WT The washer Load Size knob spins around and will not engage to select a load size. Seems to be stuck on large. Does the knob have plastic pins on the back that engage with the pressure switch? Or, do I need to replace both know and pressure switch?
1 Answer Hello Craig. Pull the knob off the shaft and look and see if the back of the knob is broke on the unit. If it is broke, replace the knob WH01X10305. If it is not broke, replace the pressure switch WH12X10321. Read More...
Evon E October 25, 2013 for Model Number WPRE6100G0WT I can not change the load size. The knob goes around in a circle. When I pulled it off there is nothing behind it to connect to. It was set on a small load when it broke. What is the part called that I would need to replace.
1 Answer Evon, The pressure switch is the part that would be needed for the load size. The part number is WH12X10321. Read More...
John May 13, 2013 for Model Number GE Profile WPRE6100GWT Washer my washer is leaking out of the hose flood (overflow white pipe) during agitation when on the super wash setting. if i put it on another wash setting (large/etc.), it justs leaks a few drops out of the hose flood pipe. i did check and clear out the water pressure hose and its nipple connection. i think it is related to a pressure or water level switch.
1 Answer John, If you're sure you cleared the air dome hose, the pressure switch WH12X10321 would be a possible issue, but you may want to consider a fill valve WH13X10024 first, you may have a weak or corroded internal part, allowing the water to slowly over fill, instead of shutting off when the level is reached. try this: start the washer as it is filling unplug the cord, you may need to do this several times, if the water stops flowing immediately, replace the water level switch, if the water continues to run on, replace the fill valve.
