Brian November 07, 2023 for Model Number JP989KD1CC What size is this tape and does it have adhesive on both sides? I have this older model cooktop and it appears they used tape with adhesive on both sides and the description on line does not state this information. Thanks
1 Answer Brian, the manufacturer recommended foam tape WB02X26088 only has adhesive on one side as this will allow it to secure to the cooktop, using the weight of the cooktop to create a seal. Read More...

Albert December 07, 2021 I am installing a glass electric cooktop with a granite countertop. Is it really necessary to put foam tape under the edge of the glass cooktop? What is the purpose of the foam tape? Is it just for preventing seepage or debris getting under? Thank you very much!
1 Answer Albert, we would recommend that all manufacturer installation instructions are followed. The foam tape acts as an insulator and seal for the glass cooktop. Read More...
Ml December 21, 2020 for Model Number ZHU36RSMSS The factory-installed trim/frame for the induction cooktop has separated from the cooktop. Product installation does not show this as a separate piece. It’s not damaged, but it’s loose and so direct/grime is collecting since it’s not sealed. We’ve removed the trim and carefully removed the adhesive residue. There’s double-sided foam tape across the front only. The other three sides had a silicone type adhesive strip tape. The inside rim is 3/4 x 3/16 high. What product do you recommend for us to use to attach the trim piece? Thank you.
1 Answer ML, unfortunately, the manufacturer does not list the adhesive that would be used for this. As such, we would not be able to recommend an alternative from replacing the maintop WB62X10059. Read More...
Derrick November 21, 2020 for Model Number Smeg S2772TCU Currently, my cooktop is sliding around on the granite countertop, and I can’t seem to find any adhesive from Smeg, but figured I should be able to use one of these from another brand. Brian October 30, 2018 for Model Number JP960B0C1BB The left front small element does not get very hot until moved all the way past 5 setting. You can actually hold hand on burner on #5 setting. All others show red within 4-5 seconds at #5 setting. Do I have a bad element or control switch? I guess I could swap the switches and see if the problem follows the switch? Thank you Brian
1 Answer Brian, You can test for 240 vac at the element to eliminate the switch as the problem. If you have that voltage then the switch is good. Read More...
