Cynthia June 24, 2018 for Model Number JP960SCSS GE Profile We needed to replace the 9" haliant burner, that was the easy part. We finished the replacement and put the glass back on but now the cooktop no longer sits flush against the granite countertop. The front does but not the back. We tried adding a strip of this foam tape but it still is not sitting flush. If you press on it, it goes up and down and basically looks warped. What can we do to fix the cooktop so that it will sit flush again?
1 Answer Hello Cynthia, The fix for this is very simple. Pull the unit from the countertop and loosen the screws around the perimeter of the cooktop about 1/4 turn. This will allow the unit to sit flat on the countertop. Read More...
Thomas March 07, 2018 for Model Number jp960 Part number AP5986228 is listed as foam tape for my cooktop, however, when I check compatibility using the "appliance compatibility tool" it says the foam tape is not compatible. I am replacing a burner element and need the replacement foam tape to prevent spills under the cooktop.
1 Answer Hello Thomas, You can either order two WB04K10015 and have a little left over or order one WB02X26088 and have a lot left over. As a technician, I prefer the first one since it is a bit thicker and there is less waste. Read More...
Dean S. January 06, 2018 for Model Number JP930S0C1SS I have a GE glass cooktop that the trim on the glass has come off. It looks like there is double-sided tape holding the trim on and I was wondering if there is a special heat resistant tape to hold it on? It kind of feels like a silicon material.
1 Answer Dean, There is no parts listed for the trim or the adhesive to secure the trim to the glass cooktop. The WB02X26088 foam tape is one option. But you may want to consider the WB06T10007 / WB06T10007 Clear Tape. This tape is a bit more closer to your description, and is used between the glass top and the burner box, so it is heat resistant and should adhere the trim to the glass more effectively. Mark August 03, 2017 for Model Number JGP989BK2BB 1. Is the double sided tape used to bond the glass cooktop surface to the stove metal chassis the same as that used to bond the cooktop unit to the countertop? GE lists only one part no. WB02X11189 described as "TAPE, FOAM 0.062 X 0.25". 2. There is a thin (< 0.25 in) thermal blanket mounted on the backside of the glass cooktop surface which GE sells only with the glass itself (WB61X10001). Do you offer a similar material which I could cut to size? thanks, -Mark
1 Answer Mark, This is not a double sided tape but would be a foam tape in which is supplies a cushion between a cooktop and countertop. You can use between the main top of a range and the body as well but is not necessary. Read More...

Mark January 17, 2017 for Model Number JP656SD1SS Is this the right tape for model JP656SD1SS? Also, what's the difference between this stuff and the generic that I can buy at home depot? Does that stuff work just as well? Could I just use caulking instead?
1 Answer Mark, There really is no difference between the foam tape WB02X26088 and what is located elsewhere. It is not recommended to caulk in case he unit ever needs to be repaired. Read More...
