The Power Terminal Block is an OEM part for GE dryers. This component serves as the connection point for the dryer's power cord, distributing electrical power to the various internal components of the dryer. It ensures that the dryer receives the proper electrical supply needed for its operation.

Causes of a bad power terminal block can include electrical overloads, corrosion from moisture exposure, and loose or frayed wiring connections. These issues can lead to improper power distribution or complete loss of power to the dryer.

Symptoms of a bad power terminal block include:

  • The dryer not starting or losing power during a cycle
  • Intermittent electrical issues or power surges
  • Visible signs of damage such as burn marks or melted plastic
  • Electrical arcing or sparking from the terminal block area

This GE replacement part is also compatible with Hotpoint, RCA, and some Kenmore models.

David for Model Number EED3000BOWW

Our GE Dryer (model EED3000BOWW)completed its dry cycle and then we heard a loud pop. Apparently short circuited and threw the circuit breaker. When I reset the breaker, it immediately blew again. If I unplug the unit and reset, the circuit breaker stays on. The power cord looks fried along with the terminal black and ground strap. Should I simply replace these parts or is there something else i should check to see if there was another cause for the problem? Would I also need to replace the thermal fuse? Thank you

Hello David. You need to look for the heater touching metal ground or a wire grounded and causing a direct short on the unit.
