The Microwave Oven Light Lens Cover is an OEM replacement part for GE microwaves. It serves as the protective glass shielding the internal light fixture. Reliable lens safety and clarity are pivotal to effortless visibility within microwave cavities.

Causes of a damaged light lens cover can include cracks or breaks from impact accidents during cleaning, warping from excessive heat exposure over time, or scratches obscuring transparency.

Symptoms of a compromised lens cover include:

  • Cloudiness or opacity inhibiting light diffusion
  • Exposure of live electrical wiring beneath broken glass
  • Gaps permitting liquid/debris ingress into delicate internals
  • Inability to accurately monitor microwaved items cooking

This GE OEM replacement part is also compatible with Hotpoint, RCA, and some Kenmore models.

For Ge Top Glass (Part Number: OEM6090327)

Kevin H for Model Number ZSC2201JSS

Is there a replacement part for the perforated grill? It is not shown in the break-out diagrams but appears in the actual unit to be part of the inner stainless steel case. Ugh. The glass breaking is a result of the perforated grill (part of the metal inner case - melting from using the microwave unit. Hot molten metal (sparking from microwave usage) then drips on to the glass and the glass will then also arc and eventually crack from overheating of the molten metal from the microwave. Once this perforated grill between the glass and the bulbs starts to melt, it will not stop, using the microwave for more than 30secs at a time will repeat this melting and glass cracking process. Replacing the glass will not fix it, but will allow you to use the halogen bulbs for cooking, but avoid running the microwave.
