Terry, The most likely cause for the unit to not work on the automatic setting would be the bias thermostat WE4M216 which is located on the side of the blower housing.

Hello Pat, This part just snaps into the main front. If you look at the sides of the main front with the main front off of the unit, you can see the places it is snapped into.
