The Tub Corner Baffle is an OEM part for GE dishwashers. This rubber component is placed in the corners of the dishwasher tub to prevent water from leaking out during the wash cycle. It acts as a barrier, directing water back into the tub and ensuring efficient operation. This is the left side. For the right side, use WD8X227.

Causes of a bad part can include prolonged exposure to detergents and hot water, leading to material breakdown, or physical damage from loading and unloading dishes.

Symptoms of a bad Tub Corner Baffle include:

  • Visible signs of wear or damage
  • Water leakage from the corners of the dishwasher door
  • Unusual noises during operation

This OEM GE part can also be used on Hotpoint, RCA, and Kenmore/Sears appliances.

John D, Based on the model number provided there is not a piece listed on the part breakdown for a seal at the bottom of the door, there may have been one as a part of the inner door panel in which the manufacturer has discontinued and has not provided a suitable replacement for your model. The door gasket is part number [AP 2038861] and the two corner gasket are WD8X228 & WD8X227

Stpatrick, Most leaks from the tub corners are due to a problem with the lower spray arm (split, cracked, clogged, etc.) or an overfill situation. But yes, the tub corner baffles will leak if they are damaged or deformed WD8X228 . Thanks and Good Luck.
