  • Provides positive shutoff when the control is in the OFF position
  • Helps address weak or no flame due to restricted flow
  • Can resolve gas odor from the valve/manifold area
  • Correct knobs that are hard to turn, bind, or won't fully shut off
What's included:
  • 1 valve control assembly
Install notes:
  • Disconnect power and shut off the gas supply before servicing
  • Remove control knobs/panels to access the assembly; note orientation and transfer any fittings as configured on your unit
  • Apply approved thread sealant on NPT connections if required; tighten fittings securely without overtightening
  • Leak-test all connections with soapy water or an approved detector before use; verify proper burner operation after reassembly

For Ge Valve Control Assembly (Part Number: OEM13452660)

Hello Nick, You are correct. All that has to be done to the gas valve is to flip the valve stop. This one appears that the red cap should be situated on the opposite end of the brass nut and re-attached. Be sure to leak test with lightly soaped water, (one teaspoon of liquid soap to one quart of water), before attempting to light the unit or reconnecting the unit to the power supply.

Robert, The tab on the gas valve for on or off should be in the down position for on and up for off.

My oven is not working properly. It was taking a long time to preheat and I noticed it was having problems igniting. The hot surface Igniter could probably be replaced but that does not seem to be the immediate problem. I though the orifice might have been dirty so I removed the burner tube and unscrewed the orifice and cleaned it. It still does not work properly when reassembled. When the igniter is hot and the gas valve should open I can stick my finger in the burner tube over the orifice for a second and then it lights the burner. Any ideas what the problem would be? The appliance is LP and has been converted.
