Jeffery September 10, 2017 for Model Number JGBS19MEN1BS I need to convert this stove back to natural gas i found the orifice for the burners but I can not find the bake burner orifice. Do I have to purchase a pressure regulator and does it come with the correct orifice for natural gas?
1 Answer Hello Jeffery, you'll want to flip the cap on your pressure regulator to reflect LP and tighten down your orifice two and half turns down. This should convert your oven over to LP. If you have any questions or need help with the conversion, please give us a call at 877-477-7278, thanks! Read More...
Jimg June 24, 2016 for Model Number RGB745WEA2WW While diagnosing whether the ignitor was weak or the safety valve was bad, I disassembled the safety valve before discovering it was failing because it was full of water (duh!). I had measured 2.8volts and 2.4amps, so the result was a big maybe. I removed the orifice from the safety valve outlet without realizing it might be a critical adjustment. After baking out the water, everything is working ok but the flame is very yellow. The air tube is fully open, but maybe I didn't get the orifice height back where it wants to be? This oven is in an outdoor kitchen in a very isolated area, where I'm not likely to get a service call, so please don't say "call an expert". I'm doing this as a favor for a non-profit youth camp. Thx in advance!
1 Answer Hello Jim. It sounds like the gas valve has failed and will need to be replaced on the unit. I would also suggest checking the regulator if your sure the gas valve is not the issue. Read More...
Gary May 20, 2016 for Model Number jgbs18den If the igniter is bad will that stop the gas from coming out the burner in the oven or is the valve control asm bad
Gary May 20, 2016 for Model Number jgbs18den My oven will not come on no gas is coming out of the burner but the igniter is coming on what is wrong with it
1 Answer Hello Gary. Test for 3.2-3.6 volts AC at the gas safety valve with the igniter turned on. If the voltage is there, you have a bad safety valve. If the voltage is low, you have a weak igniter and the igniter will need to be replaced. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
Tom September 04, 2015 What is the correct setting for the WB19k31 safety control valve for LP for a kenmore oven bought one brand new but but utube video said to adjust as the previous one was, masks sure to not bottom out because may mess the pin up...so from turned down to bottom how many turns counter clockwise is correct setting. Because right now flames are coming into the vents in the oven and are yellow instead of blue ?? Ignighter has been replaced also...serial#1G139336P. Model# 362. 75211100
1 Answer Hello Tom. You will need to remove the cap on the regulator and flip it to LP. Then tighten the orifice down until it bottom out. Then loosen the orifice 1 and 1/2 turns. Next adjust until the flame is blue. Read More...
Vincent S. January 30, 2015 for Model Number jgbs2oweaww It would not light so I replaced the igniter and it fired right up. Then when I shut it off, it didn't want to shut the gas of all the way. Finally the flame went out after about 5 minutes but gas was still coming out. When I put a lighter up to the burner it ignited. The burner tube still has gas coming out of it. I think it's the safety valve not closing all the way. Thank you
1 Answer Hello Vincent, This is definitely going to be the oven safety valve WB19K31. Turn the gas and power off to that unit until you get it fixed to prevent unsafe conditions. Read More...
Steve November 01, 2014 for Model Number Kenmore Gas Range Model# 362.722111102 Gas valve WB19K10002 I am getting 120V to this valve. Says on valve not to apply this voltage to it. The igniter glows red and I am getting 2.66 amp to the valve. I am checking voltage by removing the wires from the valve and checking with volt meter. what am I missing?
1 Answer Steve, The output amperage from the igniter should be 3.2 to 3.6 amps. If there is only 2.66 amps then this would indicate a igniter that is weak and would need to be replaced. Read More...
Tina October 19, 2014 for Model Number JGBS18DEN3WW my stove is set up for lp gas but i have flames coming up thru the vents in the oven what do i need to do? the regulator is set for LP but its still too high.
1 Answer Tina, you also have to adjust the bake burner orifice hood. Use a 1/2 inch open end wrench and turn the orifice hood clockwise two to three revolutions to lower the hood down onto the internal LP pin in the valve. Read More...
Sherry September 27, 2014 for Model Number JGBS19DEN4WW Hi I just wrote in about my oven and the broiler bar only having a small flame and the oven on heats to about 225...I forgot to add the burners work fine Thanks
1 Answer Sherry, You will want to check the burners to make sure that there is no clogging or rust around the ports. Also check the orifices to ensure that they are not plugged up. If these check ok then it sounds like the issue with the unit would be the control valve assembly WB19K10044. Read More...
