Manufacturer Part Number: WR17X11403

This wire actuator operates the refrigerator dispenser mechanism so pressing the dispenser lever completes the circuit that dispenses water or ice. Replaces a bent or broken dispenser actuator to restore normal dispenser lever function. What it does:

  • Transfers user push force from the dispenser lever to the internal switch or door mechanism.
  • Helps the dispenser activate water or ice when the lever is pressed.
  • Commonly fails by bending, breaking, or losing tension, causing the dispenser to not respond or to stick.
  • Works with the dispenser lever assembly and internal actuation switch to complete user input.
What's included:
  • One wire actuator (single piece as shown)
Install notes:
  • Disconnect power to the appliance before starting any repair to avoid shock or injury.
  • Installation typically requires removing the dispenser bezel and possibly the inner door panel; handle parts carefully to avoid damage.
  • Use basic hand tools; keep fasteners organized for reassembly.

Jane S. for Model Number GSS25IFRFBB

I am looking for the arm that controls the amount of ice that falls into the bucket. It seems mine is broken off. In my old refrigerator, the arm is attached to the ice maker, rises up when the ice is going to fall, then goes back down and stays there until more ice is ready to be dumped. In my old frig, this is made from wire and is about 6" long. In the GE frig, the icemaker is turned sideways and my arm is missing. I ordered the GE Wire actuator disp, but when it arrived it was very long and I immediately thought, "I have ordered the wrong thing." If you know what I am referring to, please advise. I have the springs, etc that went with the actuator disp and may not need those either. Your help is appreciated. Jane Smith

Hello Jane. They have redesigned the icemaker and it does not use the wire feeler arm anymore. You will need to replace the icemaker WR30X10093. The GE icemaker uses a arm on the bottom that swings back and forth to feel the ice level. Hope this helps.
