  • Inability to dispense water or select temperatures as inputs are unresponsive
  • Stuck or non-responsive buttons that don't register selection presses
  • Error messages displaying related to touch control failures

Causes may involve moisture penetration degrading internal circuitry or normal component wear/failure over lengthy usage.

John, it would be recommended that the water tubing is inspected for any holes that could allow the water to spray onto the display. If the tubing has backed out of the bracket of the dispenser housing, this can cause the water to travel along the top of the assembly as well.

Lisa, the correct part number for the model number LFXC24726S/02 display cover is MCK66585130/ MCK66585130 Cover, Display, the part is in stock and available at this time. Replacement parts do not "normally" come with instructions unless there's been an engineering or parts re-design. Here are some of the instructions from the service manual: Remove power to the refrigerator. Pull out the drain/drip pan. Holding the inner side of the dispenser pull it forward/out to remove it. If the nozzle interferes with the button, push and pull out the bottom of the button. Remove/disconnect the lead wires, and remove the dispenser assembly. Remove the 1 screw on the PCB fixing screw, then remove the display PCB fixing screw. reverse the procedure, restore power to the refrigerator, re-program the board, and check for operation.

Mike, the display cover is going to be part number MCK66585114. While we do not have a video showing the replacement of this cover, there is a video available that can be used as a reference for accessing the area necessary to replace the cover. Once the dispenser housing assembly is removed, the control board behind the cover would need to be removed and the cover can then be changed out. The following link can be used to view the dispenser assembly removal. https://www.appliancepartspros.com/lg-micro-switch-6600jb3001f-ap4650819.html#autoplay
