The Washer Heater Assembly is an OEM component specifically designed for LG washing machines. It provides heated water to wash cycles, helping activate detergents and release tough soils for deeper cleaning.

Causes of a faulty heater assembly typically include cracks in the heater element from chemical exposure or thermal expansion/contraction cycles over time. Electrical connections can corrode from mineral deposits.

Symptoms of a bad heater assembly include:

  • Inability to select hot water cycles
  • Slow or incomplete activation of detergents
  • Reduced cleaning performance on heavily soiled loads
  • Error codes indicating temperature sensor problems

This OEM LG part is also compatible with select Sears/Kenmore washers.

Hello Victor, there are no additional gaskets and no type of sealer can be recommended. It is likely the original gasket on the heater assembly has been compressed and cannot longer seal fully, the gasket is only available with a new heater assembly part AEG33121501.

Sean, The resistance readings are in range (heater element+10-3- ohms resist. Thermistor 2.5 -180 K ohms at room temp.) Now, you need to check the resistances on the connectors at the main control board, once you put everything back together. If you have the same resistance readings at the connectors at the control board, check for any frayed connections or wires(especially at the thermistor), If all re checks OK, replace the control board.
