They say it's the Drum thermistor or Heating element that needs to be replaced. Is that two separate parts or all included in the heater assembly? Thank you!
1 Answer Janice, the error code " tE" is a HEATING Error • The THERMISTOR is out order. The thermistor and heater are available as separate components 6322FR2046C Sensor and AEG33121501 Heater (also contains the thermistor). You may want to access the front of the wash tub, and check the wiring to the heater and thermistor first. Quite often the problem is a loose wire connection or corrosion. If you have a multi meter THERMISTOR should be 2.5 ohms to 180 ohms (changes ohms at differing temperatures). The Heating Element has 10 ohms to 30 ohms resistance across the terminals. I have the model with a thermistor built into the heater. My question is can I knock out the plug and insert a thermistor or do I have to replace the heater assembly?

It turns out that the connector on the wiring harness that connects to the thermistor is also damaged and needs to be replaced. Can I purchase just the connector? It apparently has something to do with the thermistor. From the parts diagram, it looks like the thermistor is part of the heating unit assembly. Is that correct?
