This Radiant Surface Element is an OEM replacement part for LG electric ranges and cooktops. It is a high-power coil heating unit located below the cooktop surface that provides efficient, customizable heat for various cooking needs.

Causes of failure can be wear and damage to coiled filaments from prolonged heating cycles, cracking of ceramic insulators, or loose wiring connections suffering arcing or resistance over time.

Symptoms of a faulty element include:

  • Slow or inadequate heating of cookware even on high settings
  • Temperature fluctuations within the heating zone
  • Burning or charring of spills and foods on the element itself

Ro, there will be two screws on each side of the cooktop console and multiple screws on the bottom that will need to be removed. The side screws are commonly hidden behind button covers. Once these screws are removed, the console should lift up and out. This will expose the front mounting screws of the cooktop. Once the front screws are removed, the cooktop should lift up to access the elements.

Timothy, check the wiring between the burner display boardEBR64624906 Pcb Assembly, display and the main printed circuit board EBR77562705 Pcb Assembly, Main, check the main control board for any discoloration, burn marks, etc. then replace the main control board if alls OK.
