1 Answer Jim, Unfortunately we do not have the RPM for the fan on the unit. Typically a fan like this would run between 450 and 600 rpm but do not have this information. Read More...
Stan S. August 13, 2013 for Model Number LSC26905TT The center post between the 2 doors is noticeably warm and at times hot to touch. Do you think cooling fan is the problem? Please send your motor replacement instructions with pictures to my address. Thank you. Stan
1 Answer Hello Stan, This in not a difficult repair. Remove the screws, (normally three) that mount the motor to the brackets. This will allow you to move the part around and get it out. The fan blade will simply pull off and the motor will come out with only the wire still holding it. The molex connector that connects the wiring will pull easily off by using a small screwdriver to release the locking tab on the side and pull them apart. If the coils are stopped up, vacuum them out so air can pass through them to prevent the unit from warming up again and causing the new motor from failing prematurely. Read More...
Lindsay January 21, 2013 for Model Number LSC26905TT I have ordered a relacement fan motorI for my LG refridgerator. How do you remove the assembly from the unit to replace the motor? It looks like the water inlet needs to be removed or loosened to get to it. What do you suggest? Thanks!
1 Answer Hello Lindasy, Removing the water valve would be the best way to get to the fan motor. If the motor assembly is in a plastic mount you will want to be careful not to break the plastic but you would have to slide a flat blade inbetween the motor and the plastic sleeve and pop out. Then do the same to the front. Read More...
Erik June 30, 2012 for Model Number LG LSC26905TT Sounds like a bird chirping sometimes from the back lower right. I suppose the squeaking is coming from the cooling motor (if that's what it's called). Any tricks to replacing that? Just nuts and bolts, or difficult to access cause of shrouds or something? Thanks for any thoughts.
1 Answer Hello Erik. Yes, the motor you are describing is the cooling motor 4680JB1026H located by the condenser coils. These are not hard to replace in the unit. Just make sure the power is disconnected when replacing this part. Read More...
Gary B. May 10, 2012 for Model Number LSC26905TT This fan motor on my LG LSC26905TT is making a lot of noise. I'm pretty sure it is about to fail. I haven't tried to remove it yet, but am wondering if there is a trick to getting it out. The plastic schroud it is mounted in looks a little difficult to remove. Does the whole assembly need to be removed to replace the motor and if so, what is the best method to do so?
1 Answer Hello Gary, These aren't hard to do at all. The worst part of it is emptying the fresh food compartment to remove the shelves. The service manual instructions are as follows: FAN SHROUD GRILLE 1) Remove the caps and remove the two screws holding the upper fan grille. 2) Remove the upper fan grille by pressing in the hooks with a screwdriver blade. Be careful to avoid breaking the plastic. 3) Disconnect electrical connector A and remove the upper fan grille. 4) Hold the upper part of the lower fan grille and pull it forward carefully. 5) Loosen two screws. 6) Disconnect electrical connector B on the back fan housing. Use a screwdriver blade to remove the 2 rails and the fan housing. 7) Pull the fan housing out from the top. 8) Check the adhesive foam on the upper and lower fan grilles. If it is damaged, torn, or loose, replace it. FAN AND FAN MOTOR DISASSEMBLY METHOD 1) Using a short screwdriver, loosen one SCREW in DRAIN PIPE ASSEMBLY and one connected to the MOTOR COVER. 2) Pull and separate the FAN ASSEMBLY and MOTOR turning counterclockwise based on the MOTOR SHAFT. The assembly is in the reverse order of the disassembly and take special care for the following details. 1. Be careful not to bend the tube during assembly. 2. Press the WATER DISPENSER button until water pours out and check for leakage in the CONNECTOR TUBE (It differs by the water pressure but usually takes about 2 minutes until water pours out.) For directions with pictures, you can send in your e-mail address and I'll send them out to you. Read More...

1 Answer The plastic tray is held in with screws. If you remove these screws the whole thing will come out for repair. You can use the parts diagram to see where the screws are. Hope this helps. Read More...
