The Oven Relay Board is an OEM part for LG ranges. This board functions as a hub for electrical signals, directing power to various components of the oven, such as the heating elements, convection fan, and control panel, based on the selected cooking functions.

Causes of a bad Oven Relay Board can stem from electrical surges that damage the board's components, physical damage during cleaning or servicing, or natural wear and tear over time that degrades the board's electrical pathways.

Symptoms of a bad Oven Relay Board include:

  • The oven failing to heat up or reaching incorrect temperatures, indicating that power isn't being correctly relayed to the heating elements.
  • Intermittent or non-responsive oven functions, such as the convection fan or broiler not turning on, suggesting issues with signal transmission.
  • Error codes displayed on the oven's control panel, which can indicate malfunctions within the relay board.

This OEM LG part is also compatible with some Kenmore models.

Francois, the oven relay control EBR74164805 would need to be tested for 240VAC from grey wire at relay DLB1 to the orange wire at relay RY104 when a bake cycle is started. If there is not voltage, the relay control has failed and would need to be replaced.

Paul for Model Number LRE3061BD/00

TWIMC: My range was purchased in May of 2019. Recently, using the broiler function, we noticed a moderate burning smell. We stopped using the broiler and inspected the range. Nothing was glaringly wrong and the rest of the range/stove seemed to work as expected. Some time later, I tried the broiler again. It didn't work; the broiler turned itself off and I got and F9 error code. Again, the rest of the range/stove seemed to function as expected. However, we have noticed that preheat when using the bake function of the oven seems to take forever. Your help and advice on this issue is appreciated. Regards,

Paul, Most likely a broil relay on the relay board has failed to close or the element is faulty. On the connector CN101, check the yellow wire and the grey wire for 14 ohms of resistance. Give or take a little on that reading is okay. If that reads correctly then your relay board needs replaced. EBR74164810. This relay board is located on the back panel.
