Questions & Answers

For Lg Inner Door Frame Plastic Film (Part Number: OEM13877793)

Larry, There is no need to disassemble the door. You just unpeel the old tape off the door glass and stick the new tape onto the door glass. You do need to be careful, air bubbles can form under the seal, and when removing the backing don't touch the "sticky" side of the seal, you'll leave finger prints in the adhesive. You may want to use something similar to an old credit card, and start in the middle of the seal and work your way out to the edges, so the bubbles don't form and you achieve a good smooth and proper adhesion to the inner door panel.

Googe for Model Number LG Microwave MN. LMV1680ST

The back surface of the microwave door has a clear see through plastic sheet covering the door. Shown as PN 1002 on your parts breakdown on the door parts list. Mine bubbled up and a small burn hole /spot appeared after 3 months use. Does this part need to be on the door? Possibly to block micro waves from escaping? Creating a Health and safety issue? The LG Factory service man had never seen this plastic before and stated it was a packing tape/cover and should be removed at start up. I think it should be on the door for safety reasons stated. If it has a part number it is a functional part of the Macrowave and is required on the oven for safe operation. I don't plan on using the oven without a written Statement from LG Technical Department providing me with correct method to proceed in a safe manner of operation.
