Misty May 10, 2017 for Model Number 79574022411 My fan died on my fridge. While my fridge sat with the back panel off waiting for a new fan we left the vege drawer setting on the bottom of the fridge as the freezer was still working and seemed to keep the veges cool. To my surprise 3 days later when we replaced the fan all of the vegetables had frozen :( Worse than that the water tank in the door had frozen and when we used the door water we found it had burst. As of right now I have put a bypass in the line so we have a direct line to the door water bypassing the tank altogether. Is not replacing the tank likely to cause any problems? Thanks, Misty
1 Answer Hello Misty. The only thing it will cause is the water in the dispenser will not come out cold if you bypass the tank. Thanks. Read More...
Larry April 28, 2017 for Model Number LGR7646EQ3 5 month old LG fridge. About 5 weeks ago, the water began having a foul taste (and odor)...I thought it tasted moldy but after some research, others say plasticky, which I can agree. It's getting stronger and stronger and the water and ice is unusable. Tap water is fine, removed filter and installed bypass with no change. Flushed gallons and gallons through it and after 30 mins, bad taste is back. LG repair came out today and basically told me there is nothing they can do and that the 'taste' is cosmetic. Repairman said I could change the reservoir to a coiled setup instead of the tank but wasn't sure that would fix it. Also suggested a pre-filter on the supply line. Any suggestions on what to do? I can replace water lines, valves, tank, etc... if that will resolve the issue but want to ensure it won't come back. Also, we had a whirlpool fridge in the same place using the same supply line for the past 8 years with no issues. Thanks, Larry
1 Answer Larry, You will want to replace the water filter but also you will want to replace the water tank on the unit for this type of issue. Read More...
John S November 30, 2016 for Model Number LFX31945ST/01 I need to replace the water tank, how do I get the inner door panel off.
1 Answer Hello John. On the very bottom of the left door, you will see a cover when you remove the shelves. You will unsnap the cover from the bottom of the door. It is a small cover. The tank is located behind that cover. Read More...
Lindsey November 15, 2016 for Model Number LFX24726S My water tank is this one but has a blue clip that goes between the actual tank holes and the gray inserts that the tube feeds into. It seems that it tightens the connections with a little pressure to avoid leakage. Which is the problem, leaking from the bottom hole. The top tube feed had the clip and the bottom didn't. And the leak is on the bottom. Anyhow, my question is does this part come with those clips or is that something else I can order?
1 Answer Lindsey, The water tank does not come with the clips and unfortunately we do not have any information on this part to be able to advise of the clip part number. Read More...
Mark October 25, 2016 for Model Number LFX31945 How do I properly remove the water tank cover? I have removed the screw and released the tab from the right side (facing the cover) but it seems to be stuck on the lower left. I don't want to break the cover or its mounting.
1 Answer Hello Mark. Check and see if there is any screws there. If not, it should just unsnap. Read More...
