Rhonda, The first thing to check would be to make sure that there is proper power getting to the control board of the unit. If there is power going to the main board then the board would most likely be the issue with the unit not powering on.

Victor, You will want to test your thermostats for continuity. If any have no continuity then they are faulty. You also have a thermistor that you will need to check the resistance on and if not within tolerance then replace the thermistor. Also test the heater to make sure that it is good.

Steve for Model Number Samsung Dryer DV448AEP/XAA

When I turn the dryer on, using any settings, it runs for 5 - 10 seconds and then shuts down (motor turns off and drum stops rolling). The power is still on at this point and after a minute or 90 seconds, the cycle starts up by itself again for another 5 seconds or so. Then it shuts down for a little longer. At this point it either repeats this on/off cycle or because it took so long to start up again, the display says "cycle complete" and the timer goes fto 0 minutes. I bought a main PCM - DC92-00123A from you guys yesterday and had it overnighted. I swapped it out with no success. When I take off the pulley belt, I still have the problem. I checked and have not found any frayed, loose or fused together wires either. So what do you think I should do now? Thanks for any and all advice. - Steve

Steve, You will want to check the wire harness again to make sure that there are no broken or loose wires. If the wire harness checks ok then it sounds like you have an issue with the windings on the motor being bad.

Hello Steve. If the unit is overheating and shutting down, you will need to make sure the drum is not to tight in the unit. If not, you will need to order and replace the motor in the unit.

Hello Scoutman, The first thing you should check since the thermistors and thermostats have been replaced is for restricted venting. Restricted venting will cause longer drying times and thermistors to fail. The interior of the dryer will also become hotter because of not way to vent moisture out. Clogged duct, vent opening, if vent runs underground check for water in the duct and check to make sure that the flapper on the vent opening outside is able to open.
