Dave July 19, 2017 for Model Number rf263beaesr/aa Your part number ice;aw4 is listed for this frig however the compatibility test says no. What is the correct part for my frig?
Jeff February 24, 2017 for Model Number Samsung RF 263beaesp/AA I have a Samsung french door refrigerator, RF 263beaesp/AA. The ice maker is in the top left of the refrigerator and dispenses ice through the left door. On the inner left door is the "ice chute rubber gasket" (# DA 63-06845A and AP5620495) which fits its bottom rim around the "ice chute cap" (# DA 67-03312A and AP5620404) which fits into the plastic door molding. The purpose of the gasket is to keep warmer refrigerator air from entering the ice maker when the door is closed. My wife discovered black mold on the inside of the gasket and pulled it off of the ice chute cap to clean. I cannot reattach the gasket to the ice chute cap. Two of the sides of the ice chute are too snug to the door molding to fit the soft rubber gasket under. How is the ice chute cap attached to the refrigerator door molding? Can it be removed so that I can fit the gasket around its edges and then reattach the ice chute cap to the refrigerator door? I have tried to pry the chute cap off with a flat screwdriver without success, and don't want to break the plastic ice chute cap. If it snaps on, how do I release it or is it glued on permanently and can't be removed without breaking it? Thanks
1 Answer Hello Jeff, I'm sorry but the manufacturer failed to cover this seal in the service manual. It should have a lip that will fit into the door and you may need to use a small tool to gently pry the edges apart so the seal can fit properly. Be sure not to use anything too narrow since you do not want to damage the plastic since it has to seat against the seal to be air tight. Is some cases, it may be necessary to disassemble the dispenser from the front of the door to access the parts necessary to correct this issue. Read More...
