Devin December 19, 2014 for Model Number RF263AE8P I have a broken spring that works the flapper on the left French door of the refrigerator. I believe I found replacement spring. Does it have a bushing or something that goes with it. The door looks like it has a bigger hole than the spring in door. the flapper piece has a smaller hole. I read a review of someone who replaced spring and a Teflon sleeve. Thanks Devin
1 Answer Devin, There is not a Teflon sleeve that would be needed to be replaced. If the hole is too large for the spring thing the issue would be the with side that has the larger hole. This would require that part to be replaced. Read More...
Sally Easter September 07, 2013 for Model Number RF217ACWP/XAA Received a new Spring for French door below the flap. IT won`t close by it self. Can`t get the spring in. Does the door have to come off to get it fixed.
1 Answer Sally, There is no information available on installing the spring on the French door flapper. You may need to remove the flapper to install but the part does go in the bottom hinge of the flapper and there will be a hole in the hinge and a hole in the flapper itself that it would go into. Elaine January 27, 2012 for Model Number RFG297AARS/xaa I looked up the model number and believe it's part number DA81-01345A - Is the part you suggested the same? Thanks! Elaine
Elaine January 26, 2012 for Model Number RFG297AARS/xaa The small flap on the left side of the french doors will not close automatically. I beleive it's the little spring on the lower part of the flap.... it looks like it can be easily replaced. The flaps works when opening the doors.
