Charles March 12, 2020 for Model Number DV50F9A7GV/A2 I had a repair person come out and look at dryer and drum would not start up. The motor mounting clip in back was actually not attached. upon looking further, it was the wrong size (too large for the actual bracket it attaches to). I removed the front clip, and the back clip was actually a lot larger. Very weird, since it looks like the front clip will fit. Why would they put a clip in place (but couldn't be fastened, since too large) at the factory? This had to have been like this for the past 3 or 4 years since we got them. Is this unusual?

Brian September 19, 2014 for Model Number DV457EVGSGR/AA-0001 I had this dryer delivered to my home a few days ago and after removing the duct cover on the back, I found a plate spring in the body of my dryer. The drum will not spin and I wonder if it's because the plate spring isn't attached as it should be. What is the purpose of the plate spring and would not having one installed correctly on my dryer keep it from working? Thank you, Brian
1 Answer Brian, There should be 2 plate springs on the motor that hold the motor in position. It is very possible that the spring not being in place may cause the motor to not allow the dryer to spin. This normally would be caused by the belt possibly coming off the motor or a wire that has come loose. Read More...
