Tammy, You will want to check to make sure that the fill tube for the icemaker is not froze. If the water had slowed down too much before the filter was replaced this could have caused the fill tube to freeze. If this checks ok then the issue would most likely be with the water valve.

Justin for Model Number RFG297AAPN/XAA

Had this unit given to us. Previous owner said ice maker hardly ever worked for them so they just bought ice. I plugged it in and hooked it up and it made ice one time and stopped. Pulled it apart and it had a cube froze to the little flipper things. Thawed it out and re inserted it and added New filter, good water flow through water spout on door, Ice maker clean and I held the reset button for 5+ seconds, still no ice. Do I just need a new ice maker? I don't want to just throw parts at it. Thanks!

Hello Mike, If the unit cycles and fills properly, the issue is more likely to be an issue with the units' operating temperature. The cycling thermostat in the icemaker has to be satisfied at about 20°F for it to cycle on its' own. Look for an air leak around the doors and the ice door and make sure all fans are operating properly. If no issue is located, the control board DA41-00546A may require replacement since it controls the icemaker on this design.

Bill, If you press the reset button and it does not cycle then the issue will most likely be caused by a faulty icemaker. This would also cause the unit to not fill.
