Georgia August 28, 2013 for Model Number Maytag Gas Dryer MDG9316AWW I purchased a second hand dryer that was originally natural gas but was converted to LP. Now I can't tell if it is still setup for LP or natural gas and can't get ahold of the original owner. How do I tell which it is set for and if I understand what I see on the parts order there is only one part that I would have to replace if it is still LP?
1 Answer Hello Georgia. There should be a sticker on the back of the dryer thay tells the type of gas being used in the unit. If not, then you will need to check the setting on the regulator and see if it is natural or LP. Read More...
Jpolanco April 08, 2012 for Model Number MDG9306AWW My maytag dryer model mdg9306aww doesn't dry. I removed the lower front panel and the start igniter glows, valve opens, and lites up. It runs for about a minute then the flame goes off. The igniter cycles on about every 15 to 20 seconds but the flame no longer comes on. If I stop and restart it in 15 minutes, it lights up again but does the same thing. The igniter cycles on and off but no more flame. Is it a solenoid or cycle switch or something else? Please help! Thanks!
1 Answer Hello, Sounds like it's time to change the coils on the safety valve 279834. This should solve your issue. Read More...
Rick May 21, 2011 for Model Number DG512 I got my dryer second hand. The plate says it is for natural gas, but there is a sticker near the gas valve saying it has been converted to LP, but I am not sure that it hasn't been converted back again. I am hooking it up to natural gas. How can I tell by inspecting the parts (not trusting the sticker) which it is set up for now so I can figure out if I need this kit ?
1 Answer Hello Rick! On the regulator there is a orifice that can be flipped for either natural gas or liquid propane. A visual inspection of this part will show what the unit is set for. I hope this info helps! Read More...
