John January 09, 2024 for Model Number mvwb865gw0 Maytag The agitator I purchased from a previous company did not have the same shape attachment to the washer that I have. Do you have the correct agitator? Need one that is not star shaped, need one that is circular with 3 out cropped areas that have ridges. Thank you
Steve December 12, 2022 for Model Number MVWC565FW1 Washer started a loud electrical sound (Click) during slow agitation modes. It used to be a softer sound like the motor switching directions. Now a short electric tor sound and loud electrical click. The tub is moving. This goes on for a few minutes. Then drains. During other cycles it seems to be fine. It spins fine and fills and drains fine. Seems to clean clothes as always. I actually took agitator out and inspected and cleaned drive groves. it is not stripped. Unit is only 3 years old. This click is loud. Any thoughts are appreciated.
1 Answer Steve, Check the pulley on the bottom of the unit and make sure that the nut is tight and the pulley is not loose. If it is then use some loctite on the threads and tighten it back down. Also, check to see if there are any stored error codes. Read More...
Donna September 19, 2022 for Model Number MVWC565FW1 there is a bedsheet stuck under the agitator. Please advise.
1 Answer Donna, if the bedsheet can not be unwrapped from the agitator, the softener cup can be removed to access the agitator bolt. This bolt can be removed so that the agitator can be lifted up and out. This should allow the bedsheet to be removed at that point. However, there is a chance that this could cause a stain on any cloth that touches the drive shaft. Read More...
Bill May 13, 2021 for Model Number MVWB765FW2 The agitator on this model has very sharp edges and has caused damage to laundry as well as bruises to my wife. In calling Maytag we were told that there was a replacement that was more user friendly, but I don't see any other agitator listed in your parts.
1 Answer Hello Bill, the service replacement agitator W11550891 is listed as only helping to prevent clothes from getting stuck under the agitator which was damaging clothes. Read More...

1 Answer Scott, Try to get under the agitator with a rope and using leverage pull up on it. You may need to try and spray it with PB Blaster to help loosen it up. Read More...
Jeff December 17, 2020 for Model Number MVWB765FC1 This washer has a horrible screeching sound when it goes into full agitation. A short agitation or spin cycle produces no unusual noises. What could be causing this?

Jon January 14, 2019 for Model Number MVWB765FW0 Removing the agitator on this unit,is it as easy as removing the bolt under the cap? Is the bolt a reverse thread? Can’t get it to budge! I think I have coins lodged underneath!!
1 Answer Jon, The bolt would be taken out by turning it counter clockwise. You would want to spray some rust buster or pb blaster into it to try to get it loose. Read More...
