Questions & Answers

For Whirlpool Outer Door Glass (Part Number: OEM18042084)

Hello Ashley, the manufacturer uses a heat-resistant 2x sided tape to hold the outer door glass in place. The tape is not listed as a part, however, you can search online for heat-resistant 2x sided tape, or there is a similar type of tape available at any local auto parts store which is used to attach decals and molding to auto body panels.

Dave, if the outer glass is separating from the brackets of the outer door glass assembly WPW10535777, replacing it would be best as the use of double-sided tape WP74009014 may not work long term.

Nora, There is not a double sided tape that will work for this and you will want to order the kit W10883496 for this issue. This is a manufacturer kit for this issue.

Morisola, unfortunately, as the outer glass 8304251 has been discontinued by the manufacturer, we would not be able to recommend an alternative as it could not be guaranteed to fit properly.

Brandon for Model Number KDSS907SSS01

I ordered this glass and when I received it the two holes on top of the glass did not line up with the door. My door I have is 20.5x28 but from the bottom of the panel to the center of the hole on the glass I received in the mail was about 20 inches and on the panel itself from the bottom flange to the center of the receiving holes from the glass itself measures about 19 inches so my screw holes are off centered and the glass is so close to the size of the panel itself it barely fits in there but if the screw holes lined up I'd probably be able to make it work. Can I cut about 3/4" off the bottom of the glass? I think it's tempered?

Hello Brandon, I'm sorry but the correct door glass assembly for the model provided is W10155557. The door glass you ordered is not correct and we would not recommend trying to cut ir since it will most likely shatter. Thank you for your patience and understanding in this matter.

Hello Satch! If you look at the picture you'll notice the part rest on a grid, each square on that grid represents one square inch. The part measures approximately 28" x 20.5". Thanks!

Roger for Model Number GMC305PDS6

I just orders Order door replacement glass AP6014025 to repair current broken glass. The Glass is attached with a clear 2 inch wide thin double sided tape on the outer portion and a thin 1/2 thicker grey tape around the window portion. Do you have these two double side tapes and should I add them to my existing order? If not where can I purchase them. Also removal of the exist tape and some of the glass is pretty difficult do you have any secrets or suggestion on how to get this off?

Derrell for Model Number RS696PXGB15

I just purchased part # AP6014025 to replace the shattered glass in my outer door panel. I am having a very hard time cleaning off the old glass peices and adhesive. I'm not confident that I can get the surface clean enough to attach the new glass without damaging the panel. My question is, can a new panel be purchased with the glass already attached? I've seen similar parts for other models, but can't find one for this model. I should also mention that my outer door panel is stainless steel. Thanks.

1 Answer

Derrell, According to the model number this unit would be black and there would not be a stainless door available for the unit.
