Part Number: OEM12131217
Manufacturer Part Number: 33001004

This drum baffle mounts inside the rotating drum to lift and tumble laundry during each cycle. Replacing a cracked, loose, or missing fin helps prevent snags and restores proper load movement. What it does:

  • Lifts and turns items as the drum rotates to improve tumbling
  • Separates garments to reduce tangling and keep loads moving evenly
  • Helps prevent small items from lying flat against the drum surface
  • Common symptoms include rattling or thumping, visible cracks, clothes snagging/tearing, and reduced tumbling
What's included:
  • One tall drum baffle
Install notes:
  • Disconnect power; shut off gas supply before servicing
  • Wear cut-resistant gloves; interior cabinet edges can be sharp
  • Rotate the drum to access mounting points; support the drum while removing/installing the baffle
  • Tighten fasteners securely; hand-turn the drum to verify clearance before testing
Also known as: drum lifter, drum fin Variant note: This is the tall version; some drums use both tall and short baffles—match to your original.

Bruce for Model Number LDE9806ADE

Hi, the video shows the lint at the top of the dryer. My lint tray is inside the dryer at the front when you open it. How do I open the top to be able to install the baffles? 2 of my baffles are broken off, I did not notice a different in sizes between them, but are these the correct part numbers I need 33001012 x 1 33001004 x 2 What about the screws and washers? Will it be the same screws and washers for all 3 baffles? Is there any particular order that the baffles need to be in? Sorry for all the questions ! hope to order soon

Bruce, to remove the top panel, the power cord will need to be removed from the outlet then the front panel will need to be removed first which is done by removing the two bottom screws on the front panel and rotating the bottom to the front. This will disengage the locking tabs at the top of the front panel. There are two screws at the bottom of the top panel that would need to be removed as well. From there, the console would need to be removed by removing the eight screws on the console. Then the main wiring harness will need to be removed from the components on the console (be sure to label each wire and/or take a picture of how they are connected to the components) and pushed down through the top panel. At this point to top panel can be pushed back to disengage the rear locking tabs and the panel will lift up. In regards to the baffles, the installation would be the same as in the video, the baffle order will not matter, the spacing placement is important though. You will want to be sure that the baffles are mounted in the original locations to ensure spacing is accurate.

Sergio, There is a spring clip on either side between the main top and the front panel that you will use a putty knife to push in on to lift the main top. Once the main top is up you will have access to the screws for the baffle.

Steven, There should be 2 screws at the bottom of the front panel that you would remove and then roll the front panel out from the main top and take 2 screws loose from top in order to lift it to access the screws for the baffle.

Ferd, Your Maytag dryer is slightly different. Remove power to the dryer fist. Remove the front panel, remove two(2) Phillips head screws in the detent area of the panel, and swing the panel out at the bottom until the retainer clips release from the top panel. Label and disconnect the wires from the door switch, and set the panel aside, out of the way. You may want to lay a towel or similar article on top of or over the heater cone assembly( to reduce scratches and cuts) slowly turn the tumbler so the broken baffle is aligned to the right front corner of the dryer base panel (4 or 5 o'clock position). Use a 1/4 inch drive ratchet wrench. with a 5/16 inch socket. With the tub/baffle at the 4 or 5 o'clock position there's room to set the wrench and socket on the baffle mounting screw and remove / replace it.

Hello elleydawgg. Lift the top of the dryer and use the baffle screws to secure the baffle inside the tub assembly. If the screws are missing, you can order new screws WPY310759.
