The Rinse Aid Cap is an OEM part for Whirlpool dishwashers. It is designed to securely cover the rinse aid dispenser, ensuring the proper release of rinse aid during the wash cycle to improve drying performance and prevent water spots on dishes.

Causes of a bad rinse aid cap can include wear and tear over time, damage from accidental mishandling, or loss of the cap. Without a properly functioning cap, the rinse aid may not dispense correctly.

Symptoms of a bad rinse aid cap include:

  • Rinse aid leaking or not dispensing
  • Water spots or streaks on dishes after drying
  • The cap not fitting securely or being visibly damaged
  • The rinse aid compartment remaining full or not using rinse aid as expected

This OEM Whirlpool part is also compatible with Maytag, KitchenAid, Jenn-Air, Amana, Magic Chef, Admiral, Norge, Roper and some Kenmore models.

George, the only noted change in the part, was the "O" ring seal was eliminated from the end of the cap. If there is a spring in the opening, we'd suspect a probable failure in the rinse agent dispenser interior sub assemblies WP8052027, or someone or something got dropped and just happenned to fall into the opening. We'll send you some dispenser information, that should help you out. Thanks
