Patrick June 03, 2013 for Model Number MH1170XSB6 The microwave blows fuses when the cook function is turned on. It started suddenly. I suspect high voltage capacitor, but want to confirm location in unit
1 Answer Hello Patrick. It is located inside the cabinet of the unit. You need to remove the outer cover to access the capactior on the unit. It is best to check the door switches on the unit first and make sure they are good. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. John December 07, 2012 for Model Number WMH2175XVB1 I took the capacitor out and don't remember how the wires go. Since the capacitor has 2 connectors that look the same,I dont rmember if the wires go on the top or the bottom.
1 Answer Hello John, You will have one wire that will connect to each of the sides. If you have the old capaictor look for scar marks on the terminals to determine which one to put it on. Read More...
Bob April 30, 2012 for Model Number mh1150xmq0 my1.5 uf capacitor arched to ground causing a break down on the plastic insulation on the cap could this be caused by another problem ?
1 Answer Bob, Yes it could, you'll also want to test the diode and the magnetron with a multimeter. The diode should read resistance or a closed circuit ibn one direction only and you should read less than 1 ohm resistance when you place the meter leads across the two terminals, and an "open" circuit between each terminal to the magnetron casing or chassis ground. If all's OK you'll need to check or look for a shorted or "pinched" wire in the harness. Good Luck and Thanks Read More...
Pbycatalina April 23, 2011 for Model Number mh2155xpt3 After preforming tests found in unit, high voltage t-form operational, magnatron fillament term less than 1.ohm, term to chassis infinite. H.V. capicitor reading 9.98 ohms constant does not return to infinite. Test material states should return to infinite. Bad capicitor? Please advise.
1 Answer Hello Pbycatalina. The capacitor test depends on the meter your using as well. It is best to test these with an analog meter TJMA-12814. If it is still reading 9.98 ohms, and not returning to infinite, then the capacitor needs to be replaced. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter for the testing procedures. Hope this helps. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
Guest March 08, 2011 I disconected the capacitor from the microwave and I don't have a clue how to put the wires back ?
