Evan June 16, 2017 for Model Number GU2300XTVS1 My washer quit working the wash selection buttons would light up but the start button would not work I could open and shut it and sometimes it would turn on so I replaced both door switches however it did not fix the problem. Do you think it could be the control panel?
1 Answer Evan, This issue would most likely be either the cable for the control panel having corrosion on it or the control panel is faulty. Read More...
David June 03, 2012 for Model Number GU2300XTVQ1 I have a one year old whirlpool dishwasher that fills and drains, but the motor hums and won't run. It gets pretty warm. Do you think something is stuck in the impellar or the motor is bad, or maybe the start capacitor or the control panel? I appreciate your response.
1 Answer Hello David, There could be an item in the impeller, but it's more likely to have a bad winding in the motor. If you have a test meter, TJMA-DMT3, you can test it with the power turned off to the unit. If you test from the terminal on the motor that the violet wire goes on, to the terminal the blue wire goes on, it should read 3.7 ohms of resistance. The auxiliary winding is actually used as the start winding and it is tested from the terminal the violet wire goes on to the terminal the yellow wire connects to. This should read 6.25 ohms of resistance. If these readings are good, you can test the capacitor with a capacitor tester CT1. If you do replace the motor, I strongly recommend to replace the pump and motor assembly W10806701 because, since you have to install a seal kit while doing this, it can leak and will even with an experienced technician installing it , it will still leak probably 1 out of 3 times. The assembly is complete with the seal already installed and takes much less time to install. It also costs 2 dollars less than the motor by itself. Read More...
