Jay May 12, 2015 for Model Number 665.13749k604 Kenmore dishwasher does not start. No front panel key responds. No LED lights up. I looked at technical info that came with dishwasher. I did "Checking Keypad Operation" procedure and dishwasher responded with turning drain motor for 2 mins. So this ruled out control board (to which 14 pin cable is connected). However when I checked 14 pin ribbon cable for shorts or open, almost all switch contacts tested open with key depression (Keyswitch resistance check table) and "diode test" setting on multimeter. This is unusual to have all switches bad (since at one time it did run Service Diagnostic test and ALL LEDs turned on). Are switch contacts connections directly terminate on ribbon cable or on some electric circuit(s) on keyboard panel? Can keyswitch contacts be tested on this control panel (w10243209) ? Can there be other problem? I have checked all other items (Dishwasher strip ciurcuits for resistance check) and they all are Ok. Thanks in advance for any help you provide.
1 Answer Jay, You will want to set the meter to Rx20K to test the resistance of the cable on the keypad. Since the control board does check ok then the issue will be the control panel that needs to be replaced. Read More...
John March 24, 2015 for Model Number 66513743K603 The Button covers on the front panel keep coming off like the lamination failed and the plastic cover that covers up the metal button underneath is showing. Is there a better part to buy than the whole panel?
1 Answer Hello John! Unfortunately, the panel would need to be replaced. Sorry about that! Read More...
Steve April 18, 2014 for Model Number 66513743k603 Lights on touch pad do not light up, checked thermal fuse its good, replaced control board still not working. Reset breaker (power coming to unit) with door open when closing door the unit starts and runs in drain mode about 2 mins then wash light comes on then unit shuts down and will not do anything unless you reset the breaker then dose the same thing. Could the touch pad be bad?
1 Answer Steve, With the lights on the control panel not lighting up and the control board being new, the issue would be in the touchpad WPW10243209 which would need to be replaced. Read More...
Mike November 05, 2013 for Model Number 66513489k902 Kenmore dishwasher. No apparent power to console/keypad. No LEDs light up. Attempted diagnostic cycle, no LEDs light up. Thermal fuse has continuity. Door switches work fine.I disconnected console/keypad from control(circuit board) per troubleshooting sheet/schematic that came with washer. Plugged in dishwasher to power, closed door and drain pump came on for 2 minutes and shut off. According to schematic, this is most likely a faulty console/keypad unit. There are instructions on how to test keyswitch contacts, but this does not apply to a "touch sensitive" interface which I think this console is. I would just like some assurance that the keypad/console is faulty before I order it. Thanks, Mike
1 Answer Hello Mike. Test for power to the fuse and then power passing though the fuse. If it comes to the fuse, but not out of the fuse you will need to replace the fuse on the unit. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
