This replacement part is an electronic control board. It is manufactured by Whirlpool and is responsible for monitoring and controlling the functions in a refrigerator. It ensures that the compressor turns on at the appropriate time, handles freezer defrosting, and much more. It can be damaged by exposure to moisture and extreme temperatures. If the control board has failed, the refrigerator most likely will not operate at all. In some cases, users may notice intermittent operation, but the board should still be replaced as soon as possible. To replace the board, first unplug the refrigerator. Always wear gloves when servicing the refrigerator. This is a genuine OEM part and it is sold individually. It fits Whirlpool, Kenmore, Amana, and Roper branded refrigerators.

The fan next to the compressor is not moving and the compressor is hot. I have changed out the control board, but I am still hearing a beeping noise, the temp. gauge is flashing and the unit is not getting to temp. Thoughts?? Stephen for Model Number KSCS25INSS00 ANSWER Stephen, The temp flashing is from the unit not getting to temp. The beeping is also an alarm for temp. Possible defrost issue or compressor not running. Randal, with the power supply cord unplugged, the light cover would need to be removed. This will expose screws at the back of the control housing. With these screws removed, the housing can be pulled forward. This will give access to the control board WP2307037 (part has been discontinued by the manufacturer) for replacement.

PSEG of NJ(Our Utility Co.) Worry Free Technician was at our house and said that the Kitchenaid Refrigerator(13 years old now) needs a new control board, which is now not available. The freezer and refrigerator were staying cold, but she is beeping and going on and off intermitently. He referred to Service Bulletin #W10823379B as the problem with the board and that is has been discontinued. Is the board, listed in the Service Bulletin and giving us the problem part number WP2307037, or something else? The PSEG man said he couldn't repair it because the control board is not available anymore.

My Whirlpool Gold side by side refrigerator runs then stops constantly. Gives off a sound (5 blurbs) maybe a temp alarm over 44F. The freezer blower makes a clicking sound as if it trying to start. After a while, it will start and then shut off again. Someone has told me it may be the electronic board. If it is, which is the correct one. Is it in the refrigerator at the top, the temp control board, or in the back near the compressor? Appreciate your assistance.
