  • Works as the user-facing temperature adjustment mechanism for the freezer section
  • Interfaces with the fridge's cooling system to maintain the selected temperature range
What's included:
  • One freezer temperature control
Install notes:
  • Disconnect power to the appliance before starting any repair
  • Access may require removing the control housing or console; keep track of fasteners and knob position
  • Handle electrical connectors carefully and match wiring locations when reinstalling

For Whirlpool Freezer Temperature Control (Temperature Control) (Part Number: OEM18016341)

Brady057 for Model Number PSD264LGRW

The frig does not cool on either side. the compressor comes on and the fan in the freezer comes on and the evaporator fan on the back side on the bottom comes on. When you turn the thermostat control in the frig on it seams everything comes on but no cooling going on. Could it be the Freon is low and how do you check that. I thought it would freeze up if the Freon was low??? Maytag PSD264LGRW is 11 years old and we have never had any problems until now. Please help

Hello Michael. It souds like the ice build up is on the evaporator, not the condenser. If that is so, then based on the information you provided, it sounds like there is a sealed system issue with the unit. If the ice is not covering all the coils, then you need an HVAC tech to come and do a sealed system repair on the unit.

Paul, With a cooling issue in both compartments, you need to consider a faulty defrost ADC control board WP12566102 or an issue with the start device WP12555902. I would not suspect the thermostat/cold control to be the issue at this point. Good Luck and Thanks
