When I twist counterclockwise to "Refill" is the cap supposed to come off? The one I just bought from Appliance Parts Pros doesn't. Before I try to force it, I want to make sure it's actually supposed to come off (vs. lift up so I can pour rinse aid in the gap??) I have noticed a small amount of rinse aid on the bottom of the dispenser. It runs down the door on some occasions but often just forms a thin blue line on the bottom of the dispenser.

I bought one from another vendor listed as a Whirlpool factory certified part made in Mexico to replace my original (made in Germany) and am having a problem with the rinse-aid compartment draining out as soon as I close the door (it does have the o-ring on the cap).
1 Answer Hello Richard, the manufacturer does have a part manufacturing site in Mexico, there was also a manufacturing site in Germany. All current stock is likely now manufactured at the Mexico site and as such we have no control over that. However, if the dispenser is leaking rinse aid that is a faulty part, internally there is a plunger that prevents this, it may be stuck in the open position, however the dispenser assembly is not considered to repairable just replaceable.
