Larry October 26, 2019 for Model Number Whirlpool DSCX 10120 8575 004 80050 A service technician said that we need WHIRLPOOL C/DRYER DOOR LOCK 481010615880 (dryer door lock/latch), however he said that he needs 3 months to order it. If this will work, it will save us months of time. Can you confirm? Model is Whirlpool DSCX 10120.
1 Answer Larry, the door lock (481010615880) specified for your model would be the only one that could be recommended. Unfortunately, as there are very limited parts crossovers between US models and other models, this part is not among the cross over parts available to us. We thank you for your patience and understanding. Read More...

Robert October 24, 2019 for Model Number LTE6234DQ2 The dryer start switch does not start the dryer so I replaced the start switch and the door latch. Still the same, start switch doesn't turn the dryer on.
1 Answer Hello Robert, at the timer check the light blue wire which goes to the motor for 120v with timer set to run, next access the lower dryer cabinet area and check the belt switch for continuity, finally check at motor for 120v terminals 4m to 5m with timer set to run, door closed and start pushbutton held in,if 120v shows then replace the motor. John October 08, 2019 for Model Number 110.8508 Kenmore Elite - won't start. Thermal fuse - OK. I don't understand how the door switch would prevent from starting. Is this the switch that turns on the inside light? If so, it is also working. What is next to test.
1 Answer John, If the thermal fuse is good then this would likely be a door switch that is not making when the door closes. The light may work but if the switch does not close then it will cause the unit to not run. Read More...

Keith Hargraves May 15, 2018 for Model Number Kenmore 110.63912100 dryer The dryer door kept popping open, so I ordered a new door latch kit. I matched the proper latch and installed a new striker. Now, the door will stay closed for about 5-10 seconds if cold, less than that if it's hot. It looks like the latch is not fully engaged with the striker. Any suggestions? Keith
1 Answer Keith, Make sure the machine isn't overloaded(1/3 to 1/2 of the opening full) and no shoes or small heavy articles. Then check the door hinges and door springs for distortion or damage. Check that the door panels aren't loose or twisted and check the front panel in the area of the door hinges for distortion(bowed out) causing the door to mis align or causing excess tension on the hinges causing the door to "pop" open. Skip January 13, 2018 for Model Number Maytag dryer MEDZ600TW2 The door latch kit 279570 did not come with instructions. How do I know which of the three color-coded catches to use? I don’t have the original catch?
1 Answer Hello Skip, The instructions from th3e manufacturer read as follows: This kit contains (2) door strikes and various door catches. Some dryers may use more than (1) catch. Note numbers stamped on the catches and/or color of the spring steel, 20 (yellow), 22 (blue) or 25 (green). Match the number and/or color, of the catch being replaced with the catch supplied in the kit. If the catch you’re replacing has an 18 stamped on it or is silver in color, use the catch stamped with 20 (yellow) for replacement. The (2) door strikes contained in the kit are the same. Please replace the door strike(s) with the appropriate number of door catches being used for this repair. If you cannot match the number on the catches, match the catch(es) by the following: 1. If your dryer has one catch and is not a 27” Wide Laundry Center or Commercial Stacked Pair, use the catch stamped with 20 (yellow) for replacement. If it is a 27” Laundry Center or Commercial Stacked Pair, use the catch stamped with 25 (green) for replacement. 2. If your dryer has 2 catches, use the catch stamped with 22 (blue) on the top and the catch stamped 20 (yellow) on the bottom. Read More...
